PRINTING APPARATUS AND MANAGEMENT METHOD
A technique provided herein makes it possible to select a measurement place to be adjusted from a plurality of measurement places in a printing apparatus if a misregistration amount deviates from a permissible range. The printing apparatus comprises a controller including a detection part, a causality search part, and a selection part. The detection part detects the amount of mutual misalignment between inks ejected from a plurality of heads to a surface of a base material on the basis of a captured image acquired from a camera. The causality search part acquires measured values from a plurality of sensors and acquires the misalignment amount from the detection part. The causality search part estimates a causal relationship between observed variables using a plurality of the measured values and the misalignment amount as the observed variables and using a statistical causality search program, and calculates a strength of the causal relationship between the observed variables. The selection part selects a measurement place to be adjusted on the basis of a plurality of the strengths if the misalignment amount deviates from a permissible range.

Provided is a printing device including a printing mechanism that performs printing on a long medium and a cutting mechanism that cuts the medium after printing in a width direction of the medium orthogonal to a transport direction of the medium, the printing device capable of performing printing on the medium by the printing mechanism and transporting the medium toward the cutting mechanism even during the cutting of the medium by the cutting mechanism. A printing device (1) includes a tension applying mechanism (10) having a tension bar (9) that comes into contact with a medium (2) after printing to apply tension to the medium (2). The tension bar (9) is disposed between a printing mechanism (3) and a cutting mechanism (7) in the transport direction of the medium (2).
RECORDING APPARATUS AND DRYING METHOD FOR RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a recording portion, a first air blowing portion comprising a plurality of first nozzle holes, a second air blowing portion comprising a plurality of second nozzle holes, and provided to be adjacent to the first air blowing portion on a downstream side in a conveyance direction, and a control portion configured to control the first air blowing portion and the second air blowing portion such that a first air velocity in the plurality of first nozzle holes is lower than a second air velocity in the plurality of second nozzle holes, and a ratio of a first total air amount, which is a total air amount per unit time blown from the plurality of first nozzle holes, and a second total air amount, which is a total air amount per unit time blown from the plurality of second nozzle holes, is within a predetermined range.
Apparatus and method for printing onto a polymeric web
The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for securely applying print to a web of continuous polymeric film. The web can first travel in a machine direction on a tensioning roller and onto a folding board whereupon the web is divided into first and second partial widths with a cross-section of the web taking on a U-shape or a V-shape. In between the cross-section of these two partial widths a printer can be placed such that the printer prints onto an inner surface of first partial width. Once the printing is complete, the folding of the web can be completed such that an inner surface of the second partial width is in contact with, covers, and protects the printed matter placed onto the first partial width.
Media conveyance device, printer, and control method of a media conveyance device
A control method of a media conveyance device enables accurately detecting media slack by a detection mechanism with multiple emitters and multiple photodetectors disposed opposite the emitters. A printer (media conveyance device) has a controller that controls a delivery mechanism, a conveyance mechanism that conveys media, a delivery mechanism, and a conveyance mechanism, and controls conveying roll paper; a first detector including a first emitter and first photodetector; and a second detector including a second emitter and second photodetector. When driving the conveyance mechanism, the controller selectively controls the first emitter and first photodetector to emit, and drives a spindle based on signal output from the first detector when first emitter emits, and signal output from the second detector when second emitter emits.
Printer
A printer includes a conveying roller, a print head, a tension applying section and a guide roller. The conveying roller conveys a print medium. The print head conveys an ink ribbon tape, and performs printing on the print medium. The tension applying section is provided at an upstream side of the print head with respect to a conveyance direction of the ink ribbon tape, and allows tension applied to a center region along a width direction of the ink ribbon tape to be higher than tension applied to both end regions of the ink ribbon tape. The guide roller is provided between the print head and the tension applying section at the upstream side of the print head with respect to the conveyance direction of the ink ribbon tape, and applies tensile force to the ink ribbon tape outward along the width direction.
Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes a feeding unit which includes a medium support unit which supports a roll-shaped medium, a feeding motor which rotates the medium support unit, and a transmission unit which transmits a driving force of the feeding motor to the medium support unit; a transport unit which transports a medium fed from the feeding unit; and a control unit which adjusts a tensile force of the medium between the medium support unit and the transport unit, by controlling the feeding motor, in which the transmission unit includes a plurality of transmission mechanisms, and the plurality of transmission mechanisms include a belt transmission mechanism which transmits the driving force using a belt.
Method of and apparatus for printing on a web
Method and means of printing on a web. The method means comprise in a normal mode: feeding the web in a machine direction; printing on the web with a printer; and drying or curing the printing with a dryer or curer located downstream, with respect to the machine direction, of the printer; and in a pause mode: pausing printing on the web; feeding the web in the machine direction while printing on the web is paused by a distance such that a portion of the web located between the printer and the dryer or curer, the portion having printing thereon that has not yet been cured or dried, is fed through the dryer or curer to dry or cure the printing; and thereafter pausing feeding of the web in the machine direction.
