Printer for printing on a medium
09840098 · 2017-12-12 · ·

A printer includes a print head fastening facing a medium support surface; a scanning print carriage being movable along a guide in a scanning direction (Y); and a transporter for transporting the medium in a transport direction (X). The printer includes a suspension structure connecting the print head fastening to the scanning print carriage while allowing movement of the print head fastening with respect to the scanning print carriage in a direction (X) parallel to the transport direction. The suspension structure is elastically deformable to allow for the movement in said direction (X).

A carriage includes a base plate, a liquid jet head which includes a support plate attached to the base plate, a first engagement portion which is formed on one end in a Y direction of the support plate, and a fixing tool for positioning the support plate with respect to the base plate, the fixing tool being slidable in an X direction with respect to the base plate and engaged with the first engagement portion. The fixing tool allows movement in the Y direction of the first engagement portion with respect to the fixing tool, and restricts movement in the X direction of the first engagement portion and movement in the thickness direction of the base plate of the first engagement portion with respect to the fixing tool.

METHODS FOR PRINTING A CURVED SURFACE OF AN OBJECT BY USING AN INKJET HEAD

A method for printing at least one section of a flat or preferably curved surface of an object includes using a relative movement between an inkjet head and the object to move the inkjet head along a first path and print a first track in the process and to move the inkjet head along a second path and print a second track in the process. A first track edge of the first track and a second track edge of the second track meet at a point and enclose an angle between about 1 and about 179 at the point. The method permits the curved surface to be printed without perceptible track connections.

Recording head, recording head adjusting system, and recording head adjusting method
09724944 · 2017-08-08 · ·

The present invention provides a recording head, a recording head adjusting system, and a recording head adjusting method. A recording head includes: a head module having a recording surface; a support member that supports the head module; a first direction position adjusting unit that adjusts the first-direction position of the head module; a rotation direction adjusting unit that adjusts the angular deviation of the rotation direction; and a position detection unit that detects the first-direction position of the head module that is used when performing adjustment by the first direction position adjusting unit and the rotation direction adjusting unit. The rotation direction adjusting unit includes a rotation support mechanism for rotatably supporting the head module within the plane parallel to the recording surface and a second direction moving mechanism for moving the adjustment position of the head module in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

A fluid ejection module mounting apparatus, including a module mount having a horizontal portion and a vertical portion, a fluid ejection module mounted to the module mount, and a clamp assembly including a recessed portion, a clamp along a wall of the recessed portion, and a lever coupled to the clamp and configured to move the clamp from an open position to a closed position. The horizontal portion has an opening configured to receive a fluid ejection module and the vertical portion has a protruding portion. The protruding portion of the module mount is configured to mate with the recessed portion of the clamp assembly.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POSITIONING PRINTHEADS OF A PRINTING APPARATUS

Systems and methods for printing on a polymeric film web are disclosed in which first and second adjacent printhead holders slidably are disposed on at least one rail and a projection extends from the first printhead holder toward the second printhead holder. A linear actuator is operated to cause the printhead holders to move between a first position in which the projection contacts the second printhead holder and a second position in which the projection is not in contact with the second printhead holder and the first and second printhead holders are separated by predetermined distances.

PRINTHEAD ALIGNMENT
20250042154 · 2025-02-06 · ·

A printhead assembly for an inkjet printer is described herein. The printhead assembly includes a printhead having a plurality of nozzles, a nozzle plate attached to the printhead, and a base plate attached to the nozzle plate by at least three fasteners that provide independent positioning of the nozzle plate with respect to the base plate in three independent dimensions. The printhead assembly has fluid connections between the printheads and a fluid manifold that has alignment features. The printhead assembly also has a tile structure that couples to the base plate, the tile structure having a first section flexibly coupled to a second section.

In a printer assembly for image-wise providing a recording substance on a recording medium, the printer assembly comprises a print surface for supporting the recording medium; a gantry supporting a print head; and a medium supply assembly for step-wise supplying the recording medium over the print surface in a medium transport direction. The print head is configured to provide a swath of the recording substance on the recording medium arranged on the print surface in a scanning direction. The gantry is rotatable in a plane substantially parallel to the print surface such that the scanning direction is rotatable relative to the medium transport direction. Thus, skewing of the recording medium may be compensated such to prevent visibility of banding due to misalignment of subsequently printed swaths.
