The disclosure relates to cosmetic compositions for treating, caring for, and/or conditioning keratinous substrates, the compositions comprising branched alkanes, dimethiconols, silicones other than dimethiconols and having a viscosity at 25° C. of greater than or equal to 200×10.sup.−6 m.sup.2/s, and non-silicone fatty compounds other than the branched alkanes. The disclosure also relates to a cosmetic treatment process using this composition, and also the use of said composition for conditioning and/or caring for keratinous substrates.

Hair treatment compositions and methods for using them is described. The hair treatment compositions include: (a) one or more fatty alcohols; (b) one or more cationic surfactants; (c) one or more cationic polymers; (d) one or more nonionic polymers; (e) citric acid, salts thereof, or combinations thereof; and (f) water.

In one aspect, described herein are methods for reducing hair shedding, comprising administering to the scalp, hair, or both of a subject a composition comprising shortened fibers of poly-N-acetylglucosamine. In another aspect, described herein are methods for improving hair growth, comprising administering to the scalp, hair, or both of a subject a composition comprising shortened fibers of poly-N-acetylglucosamine. In another aspect, described herein are methods for promoting healthier hair, comprising administering to the scalp, hair, or both of a subject a composition comprising shortened fibers of poly-N-acetylglucosamine. In another aspect, described herein are methods for improving hair growth and thickness of the diameter of hair fiber, comprising administering to the scalp, hair, or both of a subject a composition comprising shortened fibers of poly-N-acetylglucosamine.

The present application relates to compounds, formulations, kits and methods of use in the cosmetics field. A cosmetic formulation comprising a diester compound of Formula (I) or Formula (II), or a combination thereof, and one or more cosmetically acceptable carriers or excipients. The structures of compounds of Formula (I) and Formula (II) are shown below:

Hair dye composition and method of dyeing hair that targets only at least one grey part using a permanent hair dye component comprising a specific volume percentage of a particulate pigment to permanent hair dye component. The purpose of some embodiments of the invention is to delay the need for women to dye their hair in full. At least one pigment particle (about 0.0770 ml or about 1/64th of a teaspoon) may be added to a bottle of 71 ml of permanent hair dye, which allows the permanent hair dye composition to become visible and allows for more accuracy during application. Using small quantities of 5 cc per application (hair dye: 2.5 ml; developer: 2.5 ml) reduces the amount of dye applied to needless areas of the hair. The use of a make-up sponge stick allows for better accuracy. The composition is multi-use, and provides for 28 applications (71 ml bottle of dye and 71 ml of developer), and will save users time and money. All these characteristics provide for a hair dye composition that significantly reduces the amount of harmful chemicals applied to users' hair.

The present invention relates to novel hair treatment materials, and in particular materials for shaping hair and/or strengthening the hair. Also described are the use of these compounds in hair care formulations for shaping, straightening, strengthening or treating the hair, and the use of the compounds for hair straightening and/or hair strengthening.

The present invention is a versatile cosmetic composition in form of a liquid concentrate which is useful as additive or ingredient for conventional keratin fiber treatment compositions. It can be used as ready to use additive to conventional yet damaging treatments to which it is added at the time of the treatment. Such treatments are typically hair bleaches, hair colorants or permanent wave compositions. The concentrate comprises a combination of ingredients intended to reduce damage during treatments and/or to prevent undesired deposits on fibers. Such a composition comprises at least a thiol and a polymer or copolymer comprising cystine units. Such a composition is further useful as additive or ingredient for a keratin fiber caring or repairing composition to reduce damage caused by prior treatments and/or reduce undesired deposits on fibers by using the concentrate directly after treatments causing such deposits.

The invention relates to a method for mending split ends of hair comprising contacting the hair with split ends with a composition comprising at least cationic polygalactomannan containing non-ionic hydroxyalkyl substituents and having a Brookfield RVT viscosity at 25° C. and 20 rpm greater than 700 mPa.Math.s, at a concentration of 1 pbw in water, for instance comprised between 700 and 1,200 mPa.Math.s.

The present disclosure relates to hair-treatment compositions, typically in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion, comprising: (a) one or more monosaccharides with amine group(s); (b) one or more polysaccharides with amine group(s); wherein (a) and (b) are solubilized in an aqueous phase of the oil-in-water emulsion; (c) one or more oils; (d) one or more nonionic emulsifiers; and (e) water. The compositions strengthen hair fibers and provide additional cosmetic improvements to the hair such as conditioning, detangling, softness, suppleness, moisturizing, and manageability. Methods of treating hair with the compositions are also described. The methods include applying the composition to wet or damp hair, drying the hair (for example, with a blow dryer) and treating the hair with heat (for example, with a hot iron).

The present application relates to hair treatment formulations and methods of use in the cosmetics field. The hair treatment formulations include bis(2-ethylhexyl) maleate as the active agent, and may be used in bleaching, conditioning and styling hair.
