A cosmetic agent for treating keratin fibers is provided herein. The cosmetic agent includes, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, in relation to the total weight of the cosmetic agent, from about 0.001 to about 10 wt. % of at least one protein which has a content of glutamic acid and/or aspartic acid of from about 10 to about 60%, in relation to the total content of all amino acids of the protein. The cosmetic agent further includes, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, in relation to the total weight of the cosmetic agent, from about 0.01 to about 10 wt. % of at least one salt which includes at least one divalent cation, and/or of at least one salt which includes at least one trivalent cation.

Provided are methods of treating hair, the method comprising: contacting the hair with a mixture comprising: i. an ionic liquid comprising an imidazolium-based compound or ammonium-based compound, and ii. an anionic surfactant. In certain methods, the mixture further comprises a cationic direct dye.

Suggested is a blend, comprising or consisting of: (a) at least one amino acid and/or at least one protein, and (b1) at least carboxylic acid alkyl ester and/or (b2) at least one diol, and optionally (c) at least at least one additional auxiliary agent.

Disclosed is a method of strengthening hair fibers using a hair composition comprising an amide and/or an alkyl ammonium carboxylate salt. The amide can be a monoamide and/or a bisamide. A method of protecting dyed hair color from fading or wash-out using the hair composition is also included.

This disclosure relates generally to novel system comprised to provide leave-in conditioning hair styling product that improves the style and also coats, conditions and moisturizes. Also provided the composition of the present invention is a method of controlling the frizz condition. The styling gel compositions impart excellent hair styling, conditioning, and hair set retention properties to treated hair. The favorable characteristics of the composition include no drag on comb-out and a clean feel on the hair after use.

Compositions, kits, and methods for repairing bonds, for example, disulfide bonds, in hair or on the skin are disclosed. The compositions provide improved conditioning benefit for dry hair or moisturize the skin. The compositions also provide a long lasting moisturized feel and smooth feel to the skin or hair, without feeling greasy. Hair treatment agents, including at least one fatty alcohol, at least one cationic surfactant, at least one bivalent or trivalent metal salt, at least one amino-functional silicone, propionic acid and/or salts of propionic acid, and at least one of organic acid different from propionic acid, reduce or prevent the washing out of color from dyed hair.
