FASTENING ARRANGEMENT FOR A RIM OF A WHEEL
A fastening arrangement for a rim of a wheel on a wheel hub of a wheel carrier of a motor vehicle. The fastening arrangement includes a central screw which, on a fastening portion, has an external thread which engages in an internal thread of a step of the wheel hub. A tensioner produces a force-fitting connection between the wheel hub step and the central screw. A locking arrangement prevents unintentional release of the central screw. The locking arrangement has a carrier member and a blocking member, wherein the blocking member is pretensioned in relation to the carrier member by a locking spring member and is displaceable in the axial direction. The blocking member is arranged captively in the carrier member via securing means.
Centre-lock attachment arrangement for composite wheels
A center-lock attachment arrangement for use in attaching a composite wheel to a mount. TA front element includes an outer engagement surface engaging a center-lock fastening nut and an inner engagement surface engaging an outer side of a central attachment area of the composite wheel. The front element further includes an attachment aperture through which a center-lock fastener is inserted and a plurality of fastener apertures around the attachment. A backing element includes an outer engagement surface facing the mount and an inner engagement surface engaging with an inner side of the central attachment area. The backing element further includes an attachment aperture through which the center-lock fastener is inserted and a plurality of fastener apertures around the attachment aperture. Elongate fasteners received through the aligned apertures of the front and the backing element clamp the front and the backing element over and around the central attachment area.
Bell lock safety restraint for wheel assemblies
A bell lock wheel restraint system having an axle adapter to attach a bell to an axle, wherein the bell engages an outside face of a wheel away from a vehicle on which the wheel is mounted, and a bell retainer that secures the bell onto the axle adapter, thereby securing the wheel onto the vehicle in lieu of one or more failed lug bolts or lug nuts.
CENTERLOCK WHEEL ASSEMBLY
An apparatus and a method are provided for a centerlock wheel assembly that is configured to improve driving dynamics and provide faster wheel changes. A centerlock adaptor is provided with a plurality of vehicle bolt pattern configurations disposed thereon. A first and threaded abutment are disposed on the centerlock adaptor. A hub adaptor is configured to threadingly engage with an exterior surface of the threaded abutment, thereby retaining a centerlock wheel, for example. Finally, a center cap is provided to threadingly engage with an inner surface of the threaded abutment. For each side of the vehicle, the centerlock assembly features particular threading arrangements so as to retain the centerlock wheel and counteract against various wheel dynamics. A centerlock wrench is provided to tighten and loosen the hub adaptor and center cap.
Nut, in particular wheel or axle nut, washer, control device for wheel or axle nuts in vehicles and vehicle provided therewith
A wheel nut or axle nut for vehicles, having a body, having a central threaded hole, having a peripheral wall, having an abutment face at a lower side, wherein the nut also has a plurality of wrench faces on the peripheral wall of the nut body for tightening or releasing the nut by a tool which cooperates with the wrench faces. In the body at least one recess is provided in which a sensor element is arranged, wherein the sensor element is connected to a wireless interface which is configured to transmit a sensor signal of the sensor element wirelessly to an external reception unit.
Quick change system for wheels
A quick change system for carriage wheels comprising an axle adapter and a lock for axial locking of a wheel on the axle adapter, wherein the lock has at least one locking member and a release cooperating with the locking member, wherein the locking member axially locks the wheel on the axle adapter in a locking position, and the release and the locking member cooperate such that during moving of the release, the locking member can be brought from the locking position into a releasing position, in which the wheel is released axially.
WHEEL HUB UNIT WITH A CENTRAL NUT
A wheel hub unit having a central hub and a single central nut that includes respective shaped profiles radially oriented facing towards an axis (A) is provided. The wheel hub unit further includes an anti-unscrewing element interposed between the central hub and the single central nut to prevent accidental unscrewing of the single central nut. The anti-unscrewing element is provided with respective shaped profiles both radially oriented facing away from the axis (A) to engage with shaped profiles.
Centre-lock wheel removal tool
Method and tool (46, 50) for removal of the locking element (42) from a centre-lock wheel hub with a wheel nut threadingly engaged with the wheel hub, where the locking element engages with the wheel hub (24) and with the wheel nut (26) thereby to prevent relative rotation of the wheel hub and the wheel nut. Removal is made easier by fitting an extraction apparatus (50) having a first end with an externally threaded section, threadingly engaged with a corresponding internal thread (56) of the locking element, a second end provided with an engagement element for imparting rotational torque to the extraction apparatus, and a bearing surface (60, 62), located radially outside the externally threaded section and axially displaced from the externally threaded section, contacting the wheel nut.
Two-part wheel
While specific embodiments of the invention have been shown and described in detail to illustrate the application of the principles of the invention, it will be understood that the invention may be embodied otherwise without departing from such principles.
WHEEL FASTENING SYSTEM
The invention provides a wheel fastening system for a vehicle. An embodiment consistent with the invention includes a hub on which a wheel is mountable, the hub comprising a threaded surface, and a nut which is engageable with the threaded surface to fasten the wheel to the hub. The embodiment further includes a tool including a socket that is engageable with the nut; a reaction element that is engageable with a reaction surface on the hub or the wheel, wherein, when the wheel is mounted on the hub and the nut is engaged with the threaded surface, the socket and the reaction element are simultaneously engageable with the nut and the reaction surface, respectively; and a gearbox configured to simultaneously apply opposing torques to the socket and the reaction element. In this manner, the tool can be used to simultaneously apply opposing torques to the nut and the reaction surface.
