END COVER FOR VEHICLE NON-DRIVEN WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY
20190160863 · 2019-05-30 ·

An end cover for enclosing and protecting a vehicle non-driven wheel hub assembly from a vehicle body inner side. The hub assembly includes an outer ring, an inner ring, and two rows of rolling bodies disposed therebetween. The outer and inner rings define an interior space of the hub assembly in a radial direction. An end of the outer ring facing the vehicle body inner side forms a spigot for connection purposes. The end cover is formed having a pressure fitting part tightly fitted to the spigot from a radial direction, and a radial main body part capable of closing the interior space of the hub assembly from an axial direction. The pressure fitting and the radial main body parts form an elastic retainer. The end cover is largely made of a plastic material, and an at least partially contained metal framework is formed in the elastic retaining region.

A modular hub cover which includes a removable hub cover ring having a plurality of hub cover ring openings located around a periphery of the removable hub cover ring, a removable barrel having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the removable barrel is operatively attached to the removable hub cover ring, a removable insert located within the removable hub cover barrel and located adjacent to the second end of the removable barrel, and a retaining ring located within the removable hub cover barrel and located adjacent to the billet insert in order to retain the insert within the removable barrel.

Insert element for a vehicle wheel and vehicle wheel with at least one such insert element

An insert element for a vehicle wheel comprises several supporting bodies for supporting the insert element on supporting surfaces of the vehicle wheel. The supporting bodies have a supporting shoulder, which can be brought to bear against a supporting surface of the vehicle wheel, and a fastening extension with an axial hollow channel and with at least one outwardly protruding locking projection, arranged at an axial distance from the supporting shoulder, for engaging behind an installation opening reaching through the supporting surface of the vehicle wheel. The supporting bodies are designed as elastomer components which are elastically deformable in the radial and axial direction and sit with their hollow channel on a supporting core. The supporting cores bear a radially protruding retaining flange and are held on the rear side on the insert element. Each supporting body is held by the retaining flange in a form-fitting manner against being pulled off from the supporting core.

SAFETY DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE WHEEL

The present invention relates to a safety device (10) for a wheel (11) of a vehicle comprising a rim (12) designed to be fixed to a hub (14) by means of rotational fastening elements (16). The safety device (10) comprises: a plurality of locking elements (30), each element of said plurality of locking elements (30) being suitable for being applied onto one of the rotational fastening elements (16) of the wheel (11) so as to be constrained to rotate together with the rotational fastening element (16); a protection element (20) suitable for being fixed to the rim (12) and comprising a plurality of housing cavities (22); each cavity of said plurality of housing cavities (22) being suitable for receiving one locking element (30); securing means suitable for interfering with the plurality of locking elements (30) to prevent the rotation and/or the extraction of said locking elements (30) from the rotational fastening elements (16). In accordance with the invention the securing means comprising a gripping element (40) suitable for being inserted inside a seat (50) so as to radially engage each element of said plurality of locking elements (30), thereby preventing said locking element (30) from being extracted from the corresponding rotational fastening element (16) and from coming out of its housing cavity (22).

Aerodynamic cover for a vehicle wheel, attachment system for the aerodynamic cover to the vehicle wheel, and vehicle wheel having such an aerodynamic cover and attachment system

A vehicle wheel comprises a wheel disc, wheel rim, and wheel axis. A first cover spans between the rim and a hub portion of the disc. An axial portion of the first cover extends substantially along the axis. A plurality of first vents in the axial portion are arrayed circumferentially about the axis. Tabs extend perpendicular to the axial portion at each of the first vents. A second cover is secured to the rim and extends radially inward from the rim in a direction perpendicular to the axis. A plurality of second vents are in the second cover and arrayed circumferentially about the axis. The first and second covers are on opposite sides of the wheel. Each of the first and second covers has a greater extent in a radial direction perpendicular to the axis than in an axial direction parallel to the axis.
