WHEEL HUB DRIVE
A wheel hub drive as a direct drive of a wheel of a vehicle having an electric motor preferably designed as a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM)external rotor motorwhich is substantially arranged in the region within the wheel, wherein a rotating part of a friction brake is frictionally, interlockingly, and/or integrally connected to the motor for braking. The rotating part is operatively connected to the rotor of the motor, directly or indirectly, from outside of the motor.
VEHICLE SUSPENSION WITH COMMON HUB AND/OR KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY
A vehicle suspension can include an adapter mounting face, a spindle rigidly mounted relative to the adapter mounting face, a wheel mounting hub including a hub body rotatably mounted on the spindle by bearings, and an adapter that spaces a brake component away from the adapter mounting face. Another vehicle suspension can include a spindle, bearings, and a wheel mounting hub rotatably mounted on the spindle by the bearings, the wheel mounting hub can include a hub body and a wheel mounting flange, the hub body and the wheel mounting flange being separate components of the wheel mounting hub. A system for adapting a vehicle suspension to different suspension capacities can include multiple wheel mounting hubs including a same hub body internal configuration configured to be rotatably mounted on the spindle by the bearings, but the wheel mounting hubs including respective different wheel mounting flanges.
CALIPER ACTUATED WHEEL END SPHERE BRAKES
A braking system is presented that comprises a brake sphere rotor that is mounted to the wheel hub of an axle. The braking system incorporates a caliper arm assembly that comprises at least one caliper arm. Each caliper arm further comprises hemispherical friction material located between the caliper arm and the brake sphere rotor.
Drum Brake Concept for use with an Electric Wheel End Drive Motor
A drum brake apparatus is provided for a vehicle air braking system. The drum brake apparatus comprises a wheel drum having a first interior chamber. The drum brake apparatus also comprises a drum brake assembly disposed in the first interior chamber of the wheel drum and mounted on inboard side of the wheel drum. The drum apparatus further comprises a brake drum adapter mounted on outboard side of the wheel drum and providing a second interior chamber in which an electric drive motor can be disposed. The drum brake apparatus also comprises a wheel hub disposed in the second interior chamber of the brake drum adapter and to which a wheel rim can be mounted.
Reinforced axle joint
An axle and wheel end assembly includes a tubular axle housing with an annular end surface. The axle and wheel end assembly also includes a spindle with an annular end surface welded to the annular end surface of the tubular axle housing at an attachment periphery. The axle and wheel end assembly further includes reinforcing structure fixed to the tubular axle housing and spindle. The reinforcing structure is located to encompass at least a portion of the attachment periphery.
Spindle system for wheel alignment correction
A spindle sleeve and washer for adjusting the camber, toe, or thrust angle of a vehicle wheel to a desired predetermined angle which allows for use of existing hub and spindle assembly without permanent modification to the vehicle.
BICYCLE HUB UNIT AND BICYCLE WHEEL ASSEMBLY
To provide a bicycle hub unit and a bicycle wheel assembly that allow a wheel unit to be appropriately coupled to a hub body, a bicycle hub unit is coupled to a rotary body to which a brake is applied by a brake device. The bicycle hub unit includes a hub body that rotates around a hub axle and a rotary body coupling portion that couples the rotary body to the hub body. The hub body includes a first joint portion and a second joint portion. The first joint portion includes an external thread coupled to an internal thread of the wheel unit. The second joint portion is coupled to a restriction member that restricts relative rotation of the first joint portion and the wheel unit.
Vehicle spindle and a method of attaching the spindle to a portion of an axle housing
A vehicle spindle and a method of attaching the spindle to a portion of an axle half shaft housing. The spindle has an inner surface, an outer surface, one or more bearing journals on the outer surface of the spindle and a radially protruding portion circumferentially extending from at least a portion of the outer surface of an axially inboard end portion of the spindle. Prior to attaching the spindle to the axle half shaft housing, the one or more bearing journals are ground, a clocking angle for the radially protruding portion of the spindle is determined and the spindle is aligned to the determined clocking angle. Once the spindle is aligned to the determined clocking angle, the axially inboard end portion of the spindle is attached to an axially outboard end portion of the axle half shaft housing using one or more welds.
Brake drum system for a wheel of a vehicle
A brake drum system (100) for a wheel of a vehicle, comprising a brake drum (110) rotatable with the wheel, the brake drum having an inner surface (124) adapted to receive a friction-generating lining when a driver applies the brakes of the vehicle; a wheel end hub (112) adapted to be located radially between a drive axle of the vehicle and the brake drum (110); and a substantially circular spring element (102) for concentrically aligning the brake drum (110) with the wheel end hub (112), the spring element being adapted to be clamped between the brake drum and the wheel end hub for providing a radially directed spring force, wherein the spring element has an outer surface adapted to be pressed against the brake drum and an inner surface adapted to be pressed against the wheel end hub.
Wheel hub unit
A wheel hub unit comprises a wheel hub body (100, 200), a first tapered roller bearing (101, 201) and a second tapered roller bearing (102, 202). Two bearings are oppositely disposed in the wheel hub body (100, 200). A bearing bush (104) or a shaft sleeve (204) is sleeved in the inner rings of the first tapered roller bearing (101, 201) and that of the second tapered roller bearing (102, 202), so as to form a rolling and sliding bearing, and the high strength load is effectively absorbed. A seal element is disposed between the outside end of the bearing and the wheel hub body (100, 200) to form the integral type independent seal. The problem that the inner rings of the bearings are exchanged and assembled in a mixed way during the assembly process is avoided, and the efficiency and accuracy of assembly are improved.
