Wheel and wheel mount
The mount includes a base formed of a substantially planar side wall and a substantially planar bottom wall. The interior surfaces of the walls intersect at a right angle. Each of the walls has an opening. The wall openings together form a recess adapted to receive the wheel. A first notched protrusion extends from the side wall interior surface and is intended to be received in a slot adjacent a cut-out on the side wall of a container on which the mount is installed. A second protrusion, having two portions situated as an angle extends from the bottom wall interior surface of the mount and is intended to be received in a slot adjacent a cut-out on the bottom of the container.
Reducing bearing forces in an electrical machine
A magnetic drive has a prime mover, having a first magnet array on a first surface thereof, and a rotor, having a second magnet array on an outer surface thereof. The outer surface of the rotor is located adjacent to the first surface of the prime mover such that movement of the prime mover causes rotation of the rotor about an axis of rotation. A support member has a shaft for defining the axis of rotation of the rotor, and having a third magnet array, and the third magnet array cooperates with a fourth magnet array on the rotor to form a magnetic bearing to resist forces on the rotor acting along the axis of rotation thereof.
Rolling device, a piece of furniture comprising a rolling device and a use of the rolling device
A rolling device for a device that is to be moved along a surface is described. The rolling device comprises a cylinder with an opening at one end and a piston that is arranged reciprocally movably in the cylinder such that the piston can be moved between an upper position in the cylinder and a lower position in the cylinder. The piston comprises a rolling element that is arranged in a first end portion of the piston that faces the cylinder opening and that rolls on the surface when the device is to be moved. The rolling device further comprises an actuator system for movement of the piston between the upper position and the lower position in the cylinder.
Rail-Based Floor Conveyor System
A rail-based floor conveyor system, with a floor conveyor with concavely grooved wheels and rails having a surface which, when in contact, dips at least partially into the grooved area of the wheels, thereby producing at least two load-bearing lines during the movement of the floor conveyor, wherein a wheel holder is provided for each wheel, with at least one horizontal axis of rotation for each wheel and a vertical axis of rotation to a bearing connected to the floor conveyor, and wherein the wheels can be moved by drives or manually on the rail, bearing including a first bearing part and a second bearing part, wherein one of the bearing parts has a concave surface section, which is at least partially in contact with a convex surface section of the respective other bearing part, and wherein both bearing parts are movable relative to one another while maintaining contact.
Roll-off tub style container with improved roll-off wheel assemblies
A roll-off tub style container for transporting materials with the container including first and second roll-off roller assemblies secured to the rearward end of the container. In one embodiment, the conventional steel rollers of the roll-off roller assemblies are replaced with plastic rollers. In a second embodiment, rubber tires are mounted on the steel rollers. In a third embodiment, plastic slide members are secured to the underside of the frame members of the container at the forward ends of the frame members. The three embodiments are designed to prevent damage to a driveway or the like during the on-loaded of the container onto a truck and during the unloading of the container from the truck.
Wheel assembly for transportable carton
A transportable carton assembly is disclosed that includes a carton defining a bottom rear corner edge portion having a pair of longitudinally spaced apart apertures formed therein, and an elongated shield retained within the bottom rear corner edge portion of the carton and including a pair of longitudinally spaced apart wheels positioned to extend through the longitudinally spaced apart apertures formed in the bottom rear corner edge portion of the carton for transporting the carton over a surface.
Solid-tire-and-hub assembly
A solid-tire-and-hub assembly is provided. The assembly includes a solid tire defining a pair of opposed, spaced side surfaces and a pair of opposed, spaced facial surfaces extending between the side surfaces such that the solid tire defines a substantially trapezoidal transverse cross-section. The solid tire is disposed about a partially hollow hub, which defines a substantially I transverse cross-section substantially aligned with the cross-section of the solid tire, an axial aperture configured to receive a drive shaft, and a plurality of holes defined about the aperture. A power-drive unit is also provided. The unit includes a housing, a drive shaft, and at least one of the solid-tire-and-hub assembly connected to the housing.
WHEELS FOR NON-MOTORIZED VEHICLES
A wheel for a non-motorized vehicle (e.g., a shopping cart) can include a housing assembly and a tread assembly. The housing assembly can be configured to sealingly house electronics or other components. The tread assembly can removably mate with the housing assembly such that the electronics or other components remain closed and/or sealed within the housing assembly when the tread assembly is mated or unmated with the housing assembly.
FURNITURE ROTARY SYSTEM HAVING REDUCED FRICTION, AND A PIECE OF FURNITURE COMPRISING SUCH SYSTEM
A furniture rotary system (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) for a piece of furniture (10, 20, 30, 40, 50) is provided. The furniture rotary system is forming a sliding rotary connection between a rotational member (120, 210, 320, 410, 520) and a stationary member (110, 220, 310, 420, 510), wherein said furniture rotary system (100, 200, 300, 400, 500) comprises at least one sliding surface (114, 214, 314, 414, 514) being coated with a lacquer comprising a resin, wherein said lacquer in turn is at least partly coated with a lipophilic composition coating to provide a slide layer with a lowered friction.
ARTICLE MOVEMENT SYSTEMS, BALL WHEELS AND RELATED APPARATUS AND METHODS
An article movement system includes an article and at least one ball wheel. The article has first and second article surfaces meeting at a first article edge. The ball wheel is located along the first article edge and includes a ball, a bearing arrangement and a shell. The ball engages a surface underlying the article, the bearing arrangement supports the ball for omni-directional rotational movement, and the shell is located along the first article edge and contains the ball and the bearing arrangement. The shell defines a non-circular ball opening through which a portion of the ball extends to contact the underlying surface. The article, the bearing arrangement and the shell are configured such that the ball wheel is able to support the article for omni-directional rolling motion over the underlying surface with either of the first and article surfaces parallel thereto, and at any orientation therebetween.
