BEARING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE WHEEL, AND VEHICLE PROVIDED WITH BEARING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE WHEEL
A wheel support bearing assembly includes a wheel support bearing and a power unit. The power unit is that of an outer rotor design in which a stator is located at an outer periphery of the wheel support bearing and a rotor is located radially outward of the stator. A radial extension of the entire power unit is sized to be radially inward of a peripheral section of a brake rotor. An entirety of the power unit, excluding a mount part thereof to a hub flange, is sized to be situated in an axial range between the hub flange and a mount surface, on an inboard side of the wheel support bearing. The rotor includes an outer shell magnetic body, which is made from soft magnetic material and forms an outer shell of the power unit, and permanent magnets that are provided to the outer shell magnetic body.

Drive shaft bearing support assembly and multi-radius cap for bearing support housing
A drive shaft bearing support assembly is disclosed. The assembly may include a bearing support housing structured to be mountable to a portion of a vehicle. The bearing support housing may define a cavity structured for receiving a portion of a bearing therein. The assembly may also include a bearing support housing cap structured to be securable to the bearing support housing to secure the bearing in the cavity. The bearing support housing cap may be structured to contact the bearing only along two discrete regions of contact when the bearing support housing cap is secured to the bearing support housing to secure the bearing in the cavity.

In-wheel motor drive device
A wheel hub bearing unit includes an outer ring disposed on an axially outer side of the hub bearing unit and coupled to a wheel, a stationary shaft passing through a center bore of the outer ring, and a plurality of rolling elements arranged in an annular space between the outer ring and the stationary shaft. Motor and speed reduction units are offset from an axis of the wheel hub bearing unit in a direction perpendicular thereto, with the motor unit disposed adjacent to an axially inner end portion of the stationary shaft. The speed reduction unit includes an output gear coupled to the outer ring and a rolling bearing provided between the output gear and the stationary shaft to support the output gear. A carrier disposed on an axially inner side relative to the hub bearing unit is secured to the axially inner end portion of the stationary shaft.
