ANTIMICROBIAL IMIDAZOLIUM COMPOUNDS
The present invention relates to antimicrobial imidazolium compounds having the structure of Formula (I) wherein R is an optionally substituted aliphatic group that is linear, cyclic, saturated, unsaturated or any combination thereof; n is an integer of at least 1; and X is an anionic counterion. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound, a gel comprising the compound, uses of the compound as an antibiotic and methods for the preparation of the gels.
REDUCTION OF TOOTH STAINING DERIVED FROM CATIONIC ANTIBACTERIALS
Disclosed are oral care compositions having reduced tooth staining propensity and comprising in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, a cationic antimicrobial agent and an anti-stain agent comprising one or more materials from each of at least two of the following chemical groups: Group 1. anionic agents, Group 2. aldehydes, ketones, and other reactive carbonyl compounds and Group 3. nonionic ethoxylated surfactants.
Examples of cationic antimicrobial agent include quaternary ammonium compounds such as cetylpyridinium chloride, cetyl pyridinium fluoride, tetradecylpyridinium chloride, N-tetradecyl-4-ethyl pyridinium chloride and domiphen bromide; chlorhexidine; and metal ion sources to supply metal ions such as stannous, zinc or copper.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR MITIGATING SKIN IRRITATION
Methods and compositions for decreased irritation of mammalian skin cells are provided. Compositions contain at least one amide-functionalized oligopeptide. The compositions may advantageously be applied to mammalian skin to effect a reduction in inflammation and redness experienced by the skin, and/or to reduce skin irritation.
Multi-Benefit Personal Care Compositions and Methods for the Same
Personal care compositions and methods for increasing the production of natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) and increasing the production of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in skin are provided. The personal care compositions may include a carrier and an effective amount of one or more sulfated polysaccharides to increase NMFs and AMPs in skin when applied to the skin.
Topical composition comprising plant extracts
The present invention relates to a topical composition comprising plant extracts. In particular, the present invention relates to a topical composition comprising plant extracts embedded in hydrophilic vesicles (niosomes), preferably having a size smaller than 500 nm, and at least one topically acceptable excipient.
ANTIMICROBIAL PEPTIDE STIMULATING CLEANSING COMPOSITION
A topical cleansing composition for stimulating the production of antimicrobial peptides on the skin is disclosed. The topical cleansing composition includes an active ingredient comprising one or more of a natural extract and a polypeptide; one or more surfactants; and water. The topical cleansing composition increases the concentration of antimicrobial peptides on skin, as compared to an otherwise identical topical composition without the active ingredient.
ANTIMICROBIAL PEPTIDE STIMULATING SANITIZING COMPOSITION
A method of increasing antimicrobial peptide concentration on the skin is provided. The method includes cleaning skin with at least one of a cleanser and a sanitizer and applying a topical composition to the skin. The topical composition is comprised of one or more polypeptides and natural extracts that increase the concentration of antimicrobial peptides.
COSMETIC MATERIAL COMPOSITION
A composition comprising: at least one compound of the chemical structure:
Z′—H.sub.x′O.sub.x′-y′ wherein x′ is and integer greater than 3 y′ is an integer less than x′; and Z′ is one of a monoatomic cation, a polyatomic ion or a cationic complex; and at least one of a humectant emollient or carrier.
High alcohol content sanitizer
An antimicrobial sanitizing composition in the form of a gel or cream containing an alcohol in an amount of at least 55% by weight. The sanitizer is capable of disinfecting a variety of surfaces, including the skin. In addition to alcohol, the sanitizer contains an anionic phospholipid in a controlled concentration as well as components conventionally found in skin creams and gels such as emulsifiers, emollients, moisturizers, rheology modifiers, and neutralizers.
ANTIBACTERIAL, DEODORIZATION, EASING OF ACNE AND ATOPY OR SKIN CALMING-FUNCTIONAL COMPOSITION FOR Y-ZONE CLEANLINESS CONTAINING QUERCUS ACUTISSIMA SAP AND ZINC RICINOLEATE
The present invention relates to an antibacterial, deodorization, easing of acne and atopic dermatitis, or skin calming-functional composition for Y-zone cleanliness containing Quercus acutissima sap, wherein the composition for Y-zone cleanliness is a composition used for cleaning a Y zone of women, which contains Quercus acutissima sap to provide antibacterial and deodorizing effects and to alleviate acne and atopic dermatitis or to provide a skin-calming function.
