TIRE RIM STRUCTURE AND TIRE
20170066285 · 2017-03-09 ·

A tire rim structure including an annular inner ring (2) provided on the inner ring of a tire body (1) and a circular outer ring (3) provided on the outside of the tire body (1), fixedly connected to the annular inner ring (2), and formed by stamping. The annular inner ring (2) includes an annular inner ring body (21) formed by extrusion, an annular left ring (22) provided at one side of the annular inner ring body (21) and formed by extrusion, and an annular right ring (23) provided at the other side of the annular inner ring body (21), connected to the circular outer ring (3), and formed by extrusion. A shaft hole (31) is provided at the middle part of the circular outer ring (3). By breaking down a tire rim into the annular inner ring body (21), the left ring (22), the right ring (23), and the outer ring (3) connected to the right ring, each of the components composing the tire rim can be processed and formed via extrusion or stamping processes, this provides increased consistency compared with an existing tire rim that is integrally processed and formed via a casting process, thus allowing for increased structural strength and simplified manufacturing process.

Method for the Production of a Closed Hollow Profile for a Vehicle Axle

A method for the production of a closed hollow profile for a vehicle axle including the following steps: a) provision of a board made out of a sheet of metal, wherein the board has at least a length in a longitudinal direction and at least a width in a transverse direction, b) forming of the board, creating an open profile with a channel running in a longitudinal direction of the board, c) forming the lateral surfaces of the board, creating a hollow profile with a circumference and a longitudinal gap and d) joining together the longitudinal gap.

TRUMPET ARM WITH INTERNAL BUTTRESSES
20250083475 · 2025-03-13 ·

Described herein is a trumpet arm for use in an electric drive axle. In one embodiment, the trumpet arm comprises a housing with an arm section extending an arm length, the arm section having an outlet at a first end, and a flange with a planar face at a second end opposite the first end. The trumpet arm further comprises internal buttresses positioned in an interior of the housing and extending through at least a first portion of a flange length of the flange, a flange/arm transition at which the flange transitions into the arm section, and at least a portion of the arm length.

SINGLE PIECE WHEEL RIM
20170050463 · 2017-02-23 ·

A method of manufacturing a wheel sub-assembly for a wheel of a very large vehicle, such as those used for mobile cranes, quarry excavation or transport of mined material. The method includes providing first and second cylindrical blank components and an annular disc blank; press forming the first blank component to form a one piece, axially outer rim portion; press forming the second blank component to form a one piece, axially inner rim portion; circumferentially Joining, the outer and inner rim portions to form an annular wheel rim having a base; machining the inside diameter of the wheel rim base; press forming the disc blank to form a press-formed disc; machining the outside edge of the press-formed disc; press fitting the press-formed disc to the wheel rim base at the machined inside diameter; and welding the press-formed disc to the wheel rim base at the machined inside diameter.

Wheel Hub Assembly for a Vehicle Wheel and Pole Ring of an ABS Sensor

In order to provide solutions for soiling problems and corrosion problems in the area between a pole ring (41) and the hub interior, arranged behind it, of a wheel hub assembly having a wheel hub (1) which ends inside the vehicle in a hub section (50) whose internal circumference (15) defines an opening (55) for the central passage of the stub axle (6) and on which a fastening device (42) of a pole ring (41) of an ABS sensor is mounted, wherein a pulse generator section (43) which is embodied in one piece with the fastening section (42) is a component of the pole ring (41), which pulse generator section (43) extends from the fastening section (42) to the wheel hub axis (A) and is provided with openings (44, 44L) distributed uniformly in the circumferential direction; in a first embodiment the pole ring (41) extends with its pulse generator section (43) towards the wheel hub axis (A) to such an extent that the opening (55) between the wheel hub (1) and stub axle (6) is for the most part covered towards the interior of the hub. In a second embodiment, at least some of the openings or slots have an extent (RL) towards the outside which is greater than the extent (R) which is necessary for sensing. Furthermore, it is proposed with respect to the pole ring (41) that some of the openings (44L) or slots have an extent (RL) towards the outside which is greater than the extent (R) of other openings (44) or slots.

Methods of manufacture for reinforced thermoplastic components

Disclosed herein are systems and techniques for producing complex components using a reinforced thermoplastic material. The complex components can include contoured or curved outer surfaces, and in some cases define a cavity. In certain examples, one or more thermoplastic materials are arranged to form a wheel component, such as that adapted to define a rim of the bicycle. Thermal bonding can be used to join multiple reinforced thermoplastic materials to one another in order to form a cavity of the wheel component or other complex shape. In certain examples, a portion of a tooling assembly can be pressurized to maintain a shape of the cavity during thermal bonding and cooling. This can remove the need for a sacrificial bladder or other structure that would maintain the shape of the cavity, allowing for a seamless final component, optionally absent indicia of bladder exit or other seams.
