Wheel for a vehicle
A wheel of a vehicle has a rim, a hub portion and at least two spokes connecting the hub portion to the rim. At least one spoke intermediate space between the spokes is at least partially covered by a single-piece cover element. A wing portion of the cover element is deformed axially away from the wheel when heat is supplied. The cover element is connected directly to the wheel, and the single-piece cover element is formed from a single material.
Decorative applique with polymeric over coating and method of applying same
A vehicle wheel is defined by a substrate including a face and a rim portion. The face defines a plurality of spokes extending radially outwardly between a central portion of the face and the rim portion and defining a mating portion. An applique is affixed to the wheel at the mating portion. A polymer over-coating that is substantially transparent extends over the applique and the wheel substrate defining a continuous polymer surface over the applique and the wheel substrate.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MASKING SECURING BOREHOLES IN RIMS DURING THE COATING THEREOF
A device for masking securing boreholes in rims with masking elements having a storage container for the masking elements, a pressure generation unit, a connection unit connected to the storage container and an at least substantially tubular discharge device, which is secured at one end to the connection unit and which has a discharge opening at the opposite end for discharging the masking elements. The discharge device has a tube wall in which a channel for conducting a fluid is formed, the channel being connected to the pressure generation unit. The tube wall consists at least partially of an elastic material, through which the channel runs or in which a cavity connected to the channel is formed, such that, when the pressure of the fluid is changed, the tube wall deforms and releases the clamping on the masking elements. The connection unit and the discharge device are formed preferably as one piece in a 3D printing method.
CORROSION RESISTANT WHEELS, ANTICORROSION LAYERS ASSOCIATED WITH WHEELS, AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A corrosion resistant wheel including a body having an outer surface and an inner surface, and a mounting plate having a front surface and a rear surface, wherein the body is adapted for securement to a vehicle and/or trailer, a primary anticorrosion layer associated with at least one of the inner and outer surfaces of the wheel body and/or at least one of the front and rear surfaces of the mounting plate, an optional secondary layer associated with the primary anticorrosion layer, and a tertiary layer associated with the secondary layer.
Method for the production of a vehicle wheel with a connection between a wheel rim and a wheel disc
Disclosed is a method for producing a vehicle wheel with a connection between a wheel rim and a wheel disc in which the wheel disc is connected to the wheel rim by means of at least one connecting element that is guided through a through-hole of the rim base and is joined in the wheel disc. After the joining of the connecting element in the wheel disc a portion of the head of the connecting element projects beyond the rim base on the outer side of the rim. Subsequently the head of the connecting element is at least partially removed.
COATING FILM AND AUTOMOTIVE PART ON WHICH COATING FILM IS FORMED, AND CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT
The invention provides a coating film having excellent adhesion, even without a chemical conversion film treatment being carried out as an undercoat treatment, and a metal automotive part having the coating film. A powder is deposited by powder-coating onto the surface of a metal automotive part that has been quenched after forging, and tempering of the metal automotive part and bake-hardening of the deposited powder are carried out simultaneously, thereby forming a skin film on the surface of the metal automotive part. The surface of the metal automotive part before the powder is powder-coated thereon is a work-hardened basis material surface that has been not subjected to a chemical conversion filming treatment.
Corrosion resistant wheels, anticorrosion layers associated with wheels, and methods for manufacturing the same
The present invention is directed to a method for manufacturing a corrosion resistant wheel adapted for securement to a vehicle and/or trailer, including the steps of: providing a wheel body, applying a primary anticorrosion composition, forming a primary anticorrosion layer, applying a secondary anticorrosion composition, and forming a secondary anticorrosion layer.

A coating film having excellent adhesion, even without the presence of a chemical conversion film treatment as an undercoat, and a metal automotive part having the coating film. A powder is deposited by powder-coating onto the surface of a metal automotive part that has been quenched after simultaneously forging, and tempering the metal automotive part and bake-hardening the deposited powder to form a skin film on the surface of the metal automotive part. The surface of the metal automotive part before the powder is powder-coated thereon is a work-hardened material surface that has not been subjected to a chemical conversion filming treatment.
ABS TONE RING MOUNTING STRUCTURE
Tone ring mounting structure for an antilock braking system comprising a wheel end assembly rotatable component having at least a first end surface and a first engagement mechanism extending radially and non-cantilevered from the rotatable component, and a tone ring having a second end surface and a second engagement mechanism extending radially from the tone ring. Connecting engagement of the first engagement mechanism of the wheel end assembly rotatable component and the second engagement mechanism of the tone ring affects movement of the second end surface in a direction toward the first end surface. The first engagement mechanism and the second engagement mechanism can be engageable threads. The first engagement mechanism can include lugs formed on the wheel end assembly rotatable component and the second engagement mechanism threads or wedge ramps engageable with the lugs. A corrosion resistant coating can be applied to components of the tone ring mounting structure.
