In accordance with an aspect, provided is a personal care formulation comprising an alpha hydroxy acid; a beta hydroxy acid; and polyhydroxy acid comprising gluconodeltalactone. According to another aspect, a personal care formulation is provided that comprises an alpha hydroxy acid; a beta hydroxy acid; and polyhydroxy acid, wherein the personal care formulation has a weight ratio of alpha hydroxy acid to polyhydroxy acid is about 5:1 to about 1:4, and wherein the personal care formulation has a weight ratio of beta hydroxy acid to polyhydroxy acid is about 1:1 to about 1:11.
Method of improving penetration of a vitamin B3 compound into skin
Disclosed is a method of improving the penetration of a vitamin B.sub.3 compound into skin. The method involves a skin care regimen in which at least two skin care compositions are used in sequence to treat a target portion of skin where a skin health or appearance benefit is desired. The first composition applied to the skin is a low-pH skin care composition that contains a first concentration of a vitamin B.sub.3 compound. The second skin care composition applied to the skin is a conventional skin care composition that contains a higher concentration of the vitamin B.sub.3 compound than the first composition. When applied in the proper sequence, the regimen results in an unexpectedly high vitamin B.sub.3 flux into the skin.
Alkylamido Compounds and Uses Thereof
Disclosed herein are compounds that may be specific to PPAR and/or EGF receptors, and methods of making and using same.
NOVEL SKIN CARE COMPOSITION
The present invention generally relates to the field of skin care. More particularly, the invention relates to a cosmetic or therapeutic skin care composition comprising live bacteria of at least one Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) strain in combination with a solubilizer that specifically supports their viability during storage and/or their ability to replicate after application to the skin. Preferably, the cosmetic or therapeutic skin care composition comprises bacteria of at least one C. acnes strain selected from the group consisting of D1, A5, C1, C3, H1, H2, H3, K1, K2, K4, K6, K8, K9, L1, and F4. The invention also provides a method for treating or preventing acne by applying the skin care composition of the invention to a skin area in need of treatment. The invention also relates to the use of a skin care composition of the invention for treating or preventing acne.
ACTIVE PRINCIPLE COMPRISING A PARTICULAR EXTRACT OF PUNICA GRANATUM AND USES FOR PREVENTING AND/OR TREATING ACNE
The invention relates to a cosmetic or dermatological active ingredient comprising at least one hydrolysate of the rind of immature fruits of Punica granatum, which may be in liquid form, in solid form, or in the form of a film.
The invention further relates to a composition comprising this active ingredient, to a method for obtaining the same, as well as to the use thereof for preventing and/or combating acne.
