WHEEL STRUCTURE
A wheel structure includes a rim and a tire. The rim includes a body, hub and spokes. The body has two edges which first and second flanges are annularly disposed at, respectively, to form a tire holder. First and second walls are annularly disposed at the edges of the body in such a manner to face the first and second flanges, respectively, allowing a first engaging slot to be formed between the first flange and the first wall and a second engaging slot to be formed between the second flange and the second wall. The tire is coupled to the tire holder. First and second coupling portions are disposed at two inner edges of the tire and coupled to the first and second engaging slots, respectively. A hollow core portion is formed between the first and second coupling portions.

A composite wheel assembly and method of construction thereof is provided. The composite wheel assembly includes a wheel having an inwardly facing surface, an outwardly facing surface, a generally cylindrical barrel portion, and a plurality of apertures formed about a central hub aperture. At least one wheel cladding is fixedly bonded to at least one of the inwardly facing surface, the outwardly facing surface, and the generally cylindrical barrel portion. The wheel cladding increases the stiffness and/or strength of the wheel between about 2-16% or greater as compared to the wheel not having the at least one cladding.

A motor vehicle wheel bearing assembly includes a hub configured to be supported by at least one rolling-element bearing and to provide a seat for a wheel. The invention relates to a wheel, especially for motor vehicles, comprising a wheel rim and a wheel disc, the wheel rim having a rim base made of fiber composite material. The invention is characterized in that the wheel disc (3, 11, 20, 29, 40) can be indirectly connected to the wheel rim (1), in particular the rim base (2), by means of a connecting element (5, 14, 22, 31, 35, 42) which is designed and associated with the rim base (2) in such a way that the connected wheel disc (3, 11, 20, 29, 40) is not in contact with the rim base (2).
Chassis component having high durability
A chassis component for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The chassis component (1) is manufactured at least partially from a multi-layer steel sheet (10, 20, 30). The multi-layer steel sheet (10, 20, 30) includes at least three steel layers, including two outer steel layers (11, 12; 21, 22; 31, 32) and one inner steel layer (13, 23, 33). At least one outer steel layer (11, 12; 21, 22; 31, 32) of the multi-layer steel sheet (10, 20, 30) has a tensile strength of at least 1200 MPa. A method for producing a chassis component for a motor vehicle, in particular a wheel (1) or a part thereof, is also disclosed.
