SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR MOVING OBJECTS
20220177280 · 2022-06-09 ·

A trolley for lifting and/or moving a load on lines and an installation and method using it are disclosed. The trolley includes first and second side plates and sheave assemblies. Each sheave assembly includes a sheave axle with an axle shaft projecting from the first plate, a sheave cartridge on the axle shaft between the plates. Each sheave cartridge includes a pulley wheel rotatable on a bearing around an axis of the axle shaft. The axes of the shafts are parallel to one another. Retention fasteners extend thought the second plate to secure the second and first plates through the axle shafts. An installation includes a trolley and main line extending between two fixed anchorages. In use, the main line passes between the plates of the trolley, the main line contacts a sheave or pulley wheel of the trolley whereby the trolley can travel along the main line.

Tuning of a kinematic relationship between members

Described herein is a device comprising members in a kinematic relationship. The kinematic relationship is at least partially governed by at least one magnetic flux interaction that, in effect, may provide a tunable resistance to movement, changing the rate of relative movement between the members. In one embodiment, the device comprises a first member in a kinematic relationship with at least one further member to form a system. The system moves within a limited range of motion and the system interacts when an external energizing force is imposed on the system causing the members to respond due to their kinematic and dynamic characteristics and thereby creating relative motion between the members. The trigger member is coupled to the at least the first member and moves in response to a pre-determined system movement. When the trigger member moves, the trigger member imposes a braking action on the system or a member or members thereof. The speed and/or intensity of the braking action imposed by the trigger member on the system or a member or members thereof is controlled by the trigger member rate of movement. This rate of movement is in turn governed by a magnetic flux interaction between the trigger member and the at least one first member causing formation of a magnetically induced eddy current force between the parts.

BELAY DEVICE FOR ASSISTED CLIMBING
20220134164 · 2022-05-05 ·

Disclosed is a belay device for climbing including an automatic winder including a pulley and a rope. The device includes an electric motor configured so as to apply a torque to the pulley and an encoder coupled to the pulley. The motor is controlled using the encoder according to the rotation of the pulley so as to modulate the torque applied to the pulley according to at least: —an assistance mode in which the torque applied by the servomotor to the pulley drives a pulling of the rope which assists the climber in his climb; and —a fall mode in which the torque applied by the servomotor to the pulley blocks a fall of the climber or slows it to a speed less than 3 m/s. Also disclosed is a climbing game system with virtual or augmented reality using such a belaying device.
