A bob profile representing a contour of the rim protector 42 includes a first circular arc extending outward from a top PT of the rim protector 42, and a second circular arc extending inward from the top PT. A center of the first circular arc is located inward of the bob profile, and a center of the second circular arc is located outward of the bob profile. The side piece 40 includes a side apex 22, and the side apex 22 intersects a normal line LT that is normal to a carcass 12 and passes through the top PT.
Heavy-duty pneumatic tire
A heavy-duty pneumatic tire includes a carcass ply including a main portion extending between bead cores and a pair of turn-up portions, a first reinforcing layer of a steel cord disposed in each bead portion in a U-shaped manner, and a second reinforcing layer of an organic fiber cord disposed in each bead portion and at least a part of the second reinforcing layer extending in a radial direction of the tire at an axially outward location of the first reinforcing layer. The second reinforcing layer includes an axially inner second ply and an outer second ply. The outer second ply has an inner end positioned below the bead core. The inner second ply has an inner end located axially inward of the inner end of the outer second ply, and has a substantially same length as the outer second ply in a tire cross-section.
Tire
A tire whose pressure-proofing performance and impact durability can be improved, is provided. The tire includes: a tire frame member which is made of resin and includes: a bead portion covering a bead core; a side portion extending outwardly in a tire radial direction from the bead portion; and a crown portion extending inwardly in a tire width direction from the side portion, and the tire also includes a reinforcing layer which includes plural cords covered by resin or rubber and which extends from the bead portion to the side portion of the tire frame member to cover at least an inner peripheral surface of the side portion.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
In a tire 2, a length from a center in an axial direction of a boundary between a core 30 and an apex 32 of each bead 10 to an outer end PA of the apex 32 is not less than 10 mm and not greater than 15 mm In a state where the tire 2 is mounted on a normal rim and an internal pressure of the tire 2 is adjusted to a normal internal pressure, a shape of a main body portion 36, of a carcass ply 34, which is located in a zone from a boundary portion between a tread 4 and each sidewall 6 to the outer end PA of each apex 32 is represented by a single circular arc, and a diameter of the circular arc is not less than 75% and not greater than 90% of a cross-sectional height of a carcass 14.
METHOD OF MAKING A TIRE WITH MULTIPLE BODY PLIES
A method of making a tire includes providing a first body ply having a first width and laying a second body ply above the first body ply. The second body ply has a second width less than the first width. The method also includes laying a third body ply above the second body ply. The third body ply has a third width greater than the first width. The method further includes laying a first bead at a first location above the third body ply, laying a second bead at a second location above the third body ply, laying a first stabilizer ply insert at a third location above the third body ply, and laying a second stabilizer ply insert at a fourth location above the third body ply. The third location is between the first location and the second location, and the fourth location is between the third location and the second location.
Pneumatic Tire
A pneumatic tire is provided. A tire outer surface contour line from a sidewall portion to a bead portion has a center on a tire axial line passing a tire maximum width position and has a contour arc, which passes the tire maximum width position and is connected to a bead heel portion of the bead portion; and a contour straight line, which has one end connected to the contour arc and the other end connected to the bead heel portion. A connection part of the contour straight line and the bead heel portion is set such that a height H1 in a tire radial direction from a bead toe to the tire maximum width position and a height H5 in the tire radial direction from the bead toe fall with a range of (0.3H1)H5(0.25H1). A connection part of the contour arc and the contour straight line is set such that a height H2 in the tire radial direction from the bead toe falls within a range of (0.9H1)H2(0.75H1).
PNEUMATIC TIRE FOR TWO-WHEELED MOTOR VEHICLES
Provided is a pneumatic tire for two-wheeled motor vehicles in which the durability of bead portions is improved than in conventional tires. This pneumatic tire includes: a tread portion formed in an annular shape; side wall portions and bead portions, which continuously extend on the respective ends of the tread portion; a carcass 1 composed of at least three layers of carcass plies 1a, 1b and 1c which toroidally extend on the tire radial-direction inner side of the tread portion; a belt 2 composed of at least two belt layers 2a and 2b which are arranged on the tire radial-direction outer side of the carcass 1; and bead cores 3 embedded in the bead portions.
