RESPIRATORY DEVICE FOR HEAT STRESS, HEAT STROKE AND HYPOTHERMIA MITIGATION
A respiration-based body temperature modifying apparatus including an air temperature modifying element producing temperature-altered air and a respiration zone that, in use, communicates with the respiratory system of the user and receives the temperature-altered air so that the user can draw the temperature-altered air from the respiration zone into the lungs to alter body temperature.
ACTIVATED CARBON ABSORBER
An activated carbon absorber, in particular an activated carbon absorber for use by a user of an externally ventilated breathing mask or breathing hood. The activated carbon absorber includes a housing for accommodating a filter cartridge, and the housing has the following features: an air inlet supply port to receive compressed air from an air-supply unit; a connector for connecting to a breathing mask or hood; a unit which can be fastened to the body of or to or on the housing of the activated carbon absorber and which is capable of forming a detachable connection with another component in particular a sliding or slip connection.
PORTABLE OXYGEN GENERATOR SYSTEM
A cartridge system comprising a container and at least four cartridges for generating oxygen, a compressor for compressing the generated oxygen, at least one storage tank configured to store the compressed oxygen received from the compressor, an oxygen pressure regulator enabling a uniform flow of oxygen at pre-defined oxygen pressure, an oxygen flow control knob regulating flow ratio of the oxygen being supplied to the patient in an instant, a humidifier means imparting humidity to the oxygen being supplied to a patient, and a display unit displaying a set of information associated with the system and communicatively coupled to the portable oxygen generator system 10 via wireless network. The cartridges may be triggered in a plurality of ways to maintain a continuous outflow of generated oxygen for a longer duration. Further, the operation of the system may be monitored or controlled wirelessly from a distant location.
PROTECTIVE HEAD COVERING
A protective mask is provided. A protective head covering for reducing exposure to contamination and infection for a user, comprising a fabric affixed to a perimeter of a frame such that the frame and the fabric enclose the user's face. A face shield housed in the frame. An adjustment apparatus affixed to the frame such that the frame may be reshaped. One or more exterior pores affixed to an exterior of the frame and a filtering mechanism housed within the one or more exterior pores.
DESICCANT POUCH FOR FACE COVERINGS
The present invention provides a desiccant pouch for use with a face covering. In one embodiment the desiccant pouch has a desiccant layer having a first side and a second side, a filter layer attached to the first side of the desiccant layer, and a carrier attached to the second side of the desiccant layer. In another embodiment, the desiccant pouch has a desiccant layer having a first side and a second side, a first carrier attached to the first side of the desiccant layer, and a second carrier attached to the second side of the desiccant layer.
Compression-Based Portable Air Treatment Systems and Methods
A portable air treatment system configured to be carried by an individual and deliver air, via a mask, to the individual, is provided. The system includes an air inlet allowing atmospheric air to enter at an air flow rate ranging between 2 liters/min to 10 liters/min, an air compression system connected with the air inlet for compressing the incoming air, thereby increasing the temperature of the air to a minimum temperature of 170° C., a hot air chamber connected with the air compression system for receiving the heated air from the air compression system and retaining the heated air for a period of 30-100 milliseconds, an air decompression system connected with the heated air chamber for expanding the heated air thereby decreasing the temperature of the heated air to a temperature ranging between 14° C. to 45° C., and an air outlet connected with the air expansion system for directing the cooled air to the individual via the mask.
ANTI-VIRUS MASK
An air purifying device has a housing, a blower assembly disposed within the housing for blowing air, an electrically-charged electrostatic plate, and a thermal layer for heating the air to a temperature of at least 75 degrees Celsius, and preferably at least 180 degrees Celsius. The electrostatic plate is connected to a high voltage power supply providing a voltage of at least 3 kilovolts and preferably at least 30 kilovolts. The blower assembly moves the air through the thermal layer at a volume of at least 0.25 cfm and preferably at a volume of less than 15 cfm.
Portable System for the Production of Oxygen
A portable oxygen generating system is provided that comprises a reaction chamber, a feed system for providing and controlling hydrogen peroxide solution to the reaction chamber, and a cooling/condensing system for cooling the hot oxygen and water vapor leaving the reactor and condensing and removing water. The portable chemical oxygen generation system produces humidified, breathable oxygen, that is substantially free of hydrogen peroxide and other contaminants, at a controlled flow and temperature over an extended period of time.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DEACTIVATING AIRBORNE PATHOGENS
A breathing apparatus includes a first air pathway for receiving ambient air and channeling the air through a portion of the breathing apparatus, a heating section operatively coupled to the first air pathway and configured to elevate a temperature of the ambient air in the first air pathway to a first prescribed temperature, and a cooling section operatively coupled to the first air pathway and configured to reduce the temperature of the ambient air heated by the heating section to a second prescribed temperature, the second prescribed temperature lower than the first prescribed temperature. A breathing circuit is coupled to the first air pathway and configured to provide the cooled air to a user.
RESPIRATOR WITH PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL
A respirator includes a frame, a filter layer, and a face seal member. The frame has an outer side and an inner side. The frame defines an opening therethrough. The filter layer is mounted to the outer side of the frame and covers the opening of the frame. The filter layer is configured to prohibit permeation of aerosol, gas, and/or vapor contaminants therethrough. The face seal member is mounted to the inner side of the frame. The face seal member includes a seal contact area configured to engage a facial surface of a wearer. The face seal member incorporates a phase change material therein. The phase change material is configured to provide localized cooling by absorbing heat emitted by the wearer.
