METHOD FOR A VEHICLE, AN ARRANGEMENT FOR A VEHICLE AND A VEHICLE
20190160905 · 2019-05-30 ·

A method for a vehicle comprising at least one wheel suspension with at least one damper, wherein the at least one damper is such that it can adjust its damping resistance between a first damping mode and at least a second damping mode, wherein the second damping mode presents a larger damping resistance than a damping resistance of the first damping mode. The method comprises the steps: S1) identifying if the vehicle is in a first situation during driving of said vehicle which may lead to a subsequent impact force (F) on the at least one wheel suspension which is of a magnitude such that the at least one damper, when in its first damping mode, will reach a position where no further damping can be performed; and, if this is the case, S2) adjusting the damping resistance from the first damping mode to the at least second damping mode.

Shock Absorber Assembly of a Suspension System of a Vehicle

According to one embodiment a shock absorber assembly is provided that comprises a top mount and a jounce bumper. The jounce bumper includes a main body manufactured of an elastic material and a fixing element manufactured of a second material harder than the former. The jounce bumper is removably attached to the top mount through use of a movable retaining element housed in the fixing element, retaining said fixing element in the top mount in a first locking position and releasing said fixing element in a second unlocking position.

A slider suspension system for a heavy-duty vehicle includes a slider assembly with a main member that is movable relative to a primary frame of the heavy-duty vehicle in a first direction along the extent of the main member. The main member has a first portion and a second portion extending transverse to the first portion. A friction reducing slider wear pad is fixed to the main member and interposed between the main member and the primary frame. The friction reducing slider wear pad has a first segment fixed to the first portion of the main member. The friction reducing slider wear pad also has a second segment engaging at least a part of the second portion of the main member to inhibit movement of the friction reducing pad relative to the main member in a second direction transverse to the first direction.
