An air sanitization device is provided that utilizes radiant catalytic ionization to produce purifying plasma comprising highly oxidative molecules that greatly decrease the amount of volatile organic compounds, carbon monoxide and particulate matter within the HVAC system and the interior of transportation vehicle. The air sanitation device includes surfaces coated or impregnated with a noble alloy that comprises predominately titanium dioxide and a UV light source that directs UV light onto the surfaces of coated surfaces to generate, via the radiant catalytic ionization reaction the purifying plasma. Integration of the air sanitization device into a vehicle HVAC system greatly decreases irritant molecules within the vehicle.

The present invention relates to an air purifier comprising a housing with an air inlet and an air outlet. A filter module, a power supply module, a drive module and a processing module are sequentially arranged in the housing along an airflow direction. The drive module gives a drive force to the air, so that the air enters into the housing from the air inlet, then in turn flows through the filter module, the power supply module, the drive and processing modules. The filter module filters out large particle pollutants in the air such as dust. The power supply module is used to supply power to the drive module and the processing module. The processing module is used to remove bacteria and organic pollutants in the air. Therefore, the degree of air purification can be improved, so that the air is purified to the ideal state as much as possible.

The essence of the air supply system according to the vehicle air supply system is that inside the system there is a photocatalyst between at least one air intake (1,2) and at least one supply port (5). The photocatalyst may be deposited on inner surfaces of at least one element selected from the group including vehicle's ventilation/air conditioning system (3), inlet ducts (4), supply ports (5), dampers (7) and filters (9). Preferably, the photocatalyst is given in the form of a bypass (6) or an insert (10) or an adapter (8).

An apparatus for directing lighting and airflow to a vehicle cabin is provided. The apparatus comprises a light for generating ultraviolet light. A duct is provided for supplying airflow to the portion of the vehicle cabin and for receiving the ultraviolet light. At least a portion of the duct includes a functional modification adapted for interacting with the ultraviolet light for regulating an environmental condition of the portion of the vehicle cabin. The functional modification may provide luminescence, photocatalytic oxidation, or both.
