Profile strip arrangement

A profile strip arrangement includes a profile strip made of a profile material. The profile strip has a first connecting area configured to form a connection to an edge area of a windshield of a motor vehicle, and has a second connecting area configured to form a connection to a part that is adjacent to the windshield. The first connecting area has a lower connecting section which interacts with an inside of the edge area of the windshield and which has at least one free surface section that is free of the profile material. The at least one free surface section is formed by a surface of an additional element that is made of a material that differs from that of the profile strip.

The method includes applying a liquid agent having transferable properties along one or more regions of a stamping member to form one or more base marks. The stamping member is one of the closing member or the fixed member. The method further includes engaging the closing member with the fixed member, disengaging the closing member from the fixed member, and assessing a seal gap between the closing member and the fixed member based on one or more remnant patterns formed on an imprinted member. The imprinted member is the other one of the closing member and the fixed member, and the remnant patterns are formed by the transfer of the liquid agent from the base marks.

This provides a system and method for constructing and employing a wire carrier for use in reinforcing the attachment channel of weather seals that includes an expansion and compression resisting element located along at least one bending axis of the carrier when it is folded and molded into the attachment channel of the weather seal. The resisting element can be combined with warp yarns that allow limited expansion and compression along other axes, but in combination with the element prevent collapse of the seal that results in and uneven surface and/or visible kinks. The resisting element can comprise at least one undulating (sinusoidal) wire that is attached (e.g. by welding, soldering, etc.) to the individual crossing carrier wires. Alternatively, the resisting element can comprise another type of structure, such as a thin metal or polymer strip. Likewise, the undulating wire(s) can be constructed from a polymer.
