10661644 · 2020-05-26 · ·

A weatherseal assembly and associated method of forming same includes a generally U-shaped body including a base and first and second legs extending outwardly therefrom to form a glassrun cavity dimensioned to receive an associated window edge therein. First and second seal lips extend from the first and second legs, respectively, for engagement with opposed, first and second surfaces of the associated window. A first material is a stiffer, more rigid material than a second material that forms at least a portion of the second leg and the seal lips, such that at least a first portion of the first material forms the first leg extending outwardly from the base such that the first leg has a reduced thickness to provide a flush assembly of the weatherseal assembly, associated window and associated vehicle component.

Window glass with seal member

A window glass with a seal member mounted to an opening of a vehicle includes a laminated glass including a vehicle outside glass plate, a vehicle inside glass plate, and an intermediate film; and a seal member arranged in a peripheral portion of the laminated glass. A plate thickness of the vehicle inside glass plate is less than that of the vehicle outside glass plate, and 1.0 mm or less. The vehicle outside glass plate has a shielding layer in a peripheral portion of a vehicle inside surface. In a cross section of the laminated glass perpendicular to an outer peripheral edge, an end of the vehicle inside glass plate is located inward in an in-plane direction with respect to an end of the vehicle outside glass plate. The seal member has a first fixing part that is bonded to the vehicle outside glass plate via the shielding layer.

A vehicle roof structure has a roof panel and a roof side rail joined at a joint part that extends substantially in a vehicle body front-rear direction, and a recessed groove which opens to an upper side of the vehicle body and extends substantially along the vehicle body front-rear direction is provided in an upper part of the joint part. The roof side rail has a rail main part that is disposed on an outer side in a vehicle width direction of the roof panel across the joint part, and a rail extension part that extends forward from a front end part of the rail main part. The rail extension part is provided with a glass-receiving part that is disposed to be offset to the outer side in the vehicle width direction from the joint part when viewed from above, and receives the upper end side part of the windshield glass. The rail main part has a rail main face that forms the outer surface of the vehicle, and a shelf face that is provided in the front end part of the rail main face to be recessed downward, and to which a lower face of the side end part of the windshield upper molding abuts.

Illuminated trim fitting

An illuminated trim fitting for a motor vehicle, in particular a trim fitting as a cover fitting of a sealing strip for the window channel of a vehicle door, is intended to provide a high-quality illuminating effect accompanied at the same time by a simple structural design, low manufacturing costs and space-saving means of attachment. In addition, the trim fitting is to differ as little as possible externally from non-illuminated trim fittings. For this purpose there is provision that a light gap is formed between a profiled strip of the trim fitting and the adjacent vehicle outer skin, through which light gap the light emitted by an optical waveguide provided on the rear of the trim fitting can exit to the outside.

Sealing system for movable window of vehicular rear window assembly

A vehicular slider window assembly includes at least one fixed window panel having an opening, and upper and lower rails fixedly disposed at the at least one fixed window panel. A movable window panel is movable along the rails between a closed position and an opened position. A perimeter seal is disposed at a surface of the fixed window panel, with the perimeter seal providing a continuous sealing element that circumscribes the opening and that is configured to seal against a surface of the movable window panel when the movable window panel is closed. The perimeter seal includes elongated sealing portions having respective elongated sealing lips disposed along respective base portions. The perimeter seal is formed via a multi-shot injection molding process, with the base portions formed via a first shot injection molding process and the sealing lips formed along the base portions via a second shot injection molding process.
