Actuation mechanism for active grille shutters
An active grille system having a linear actuation mechanism. The active grille system has vanes connected to a link arm. The vanes rotate between an open position and a closed position using force transmitted by the link arm. Connected to the frame is an actuator that has a mover that provides force to a linear actuation mechanism that is connected to the link arm.
Actuator for a Motor Vehicle
An actuating apparatus for a motor vehicle includes an actuating element which is adjustable by loading with a magnetic field between a first position which provides a first vehicle function and a second position which provides a second vehicle function and a magnetic device where the actuating element can be loaded with the magnetic field by the magnetic device. The actuating element is an additively manufactured component.
SYSTEM FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF A GENERATOR
An electrical generation system for a vehicle includes a vehicle having a generator for producing electric current. The vehicle has a cavity having a fan and a radiator. The radiator is in fluid communication with the generator to allow a temperature of the generator to be controlled. An air inlet passage extends through a wall of the vehicle and is configured to direct air from outside the vehicle toward an inlet side of the radiator to provide increased static pressure of the air to the inlet side of the radiator compared to an ambient pressure of the air when the vehicle is in motion.
VEHICLE FROST SUPPRESSION DEVICE
A frost suppression device for vehicles includes a grill shutter disposed in front of an outdoor heat exchanger for heating the cabin of the vehicle, a shutter control unit for controlling opening and shutting of the grill shutter, and a weather information obtaining unit for obtaining weather information containing change over time in predicted outside air temperature at the current position of the vehicle. The shutter control unit makes a prediction about frost formation to predict whether the outdoor heat exchanger may be frosted, based on the predicted outside air temperature, when the vehicle is first parked. The prediction about frost formation predicts that frost formation on the outdoor heat exchanger may begin at a time when the predicted outside air temperature becomes equal to or below a predetermined temperature. The shutter control unit shuts the grill shutter before a predicted frosting time.
Air flap apparatus having a toggle joint coupling
An air flap apparatus for a motor vehicle, encompassing: a frame having an air passthrough opening; a first air flap arrangement and a second air flap arrangement respectively encompassing at least one displaceable first and second air flap; a common motion drive system for displacing the first and the second air flap arrangement; a motion coupling for coupling both the first and the second air flap arrangement to the motion drive system,
the first air flap arrangement and the second air flap arrangement being respectively displaceable between a blocking position having a greater degree of coverage of the air passthrough opening and a passthrough position having a lesser degree of coverage of the air passthrough opening;
the motion coupling the first and the second air flap arrangement to the motion drive system in such a way that the first and the second air flap arrangement are drivable by the motion drive system asynchronously for a displacement motion, the motion coupling encompasses a toggle lever linkage having a first and having a second toggle lever that are connected to one another, pivotably around a toggle joint axis, to form a toggle joint; the first toggle lever being motion-transferringly coupled to the first air flap arrangement; and the second toggle lever being motion-transferringly coupled to the second air flap arrangement; and the motion drive system being motion-transferringly coupled to the first and/or to the second toggle lever.
Radiator assembly for vehicle
A radiator assembly in which numerous fins of a cooling element extending between two coolant channels of the cooling element are divided into at least two different cooling zone, a ventilator of the radiator assembly at least partially covers a first cooling zone of the at least two different cooling zones with respect to a direction extending from the ventilator module toward the cooling element, and a gap width of a gap between two adjacent fins in the first cooling zone is greater than that in a second cooling zone of the at least two different cooling zones.
Sealed actuator with internal clutching
A sealed actuator with internal clutching assembly including an output shaft, output detent ring, moving detent ring, and a wave spring, which is fit inside a sealed housing. The moving detent ring is able to move axially to the output shaft and the output detent ring is able to rotate on the output shaft. Intermeshing ramped teeth of these rings are held together by a wave spring and allow the output shaft to rotate and transmit torque of a motor through a main gear operably coupled to an output gear mounted on the output shaft to the outside of the housing. During predetermined high loads, the output and moving detent rings ramped teeth create an axial force that overcomes the load from the wave spring, which allows moving detent ring to disengage and output shaft to rotate freely to help prevent damage to the actuator.
Vehicle body front structure
A vehicle body front structure (10) includes: a shutter mechanism (19), an under cover (20), and a cooling duct (21). The shutter mechanism includes an upper shutter (54) and a lower shutter (55). The under cover covers a power device, a cooling device, and a peripheral component from below. Air is sent from the lower shutter to the cooling duct, and the cooling duct includes: an intake port portion (75), a first discharge port portion (91), and a second discharge port portion (98). Air is sent from the lower shutter to the intake port portion. The first discharge port portion and the second discharge port portion are positioned at the back of a vehicle body of the power device, and send air toward the peripheral component.
Device for regulating an air stream for an air inlet of a motor vehicle
A device for regulating an air stream for an air inlet of a motor vehicle may include a duct defining a flow channel in which an air stream flows. A cooling unit is arranged in the duct and includes at least one heat exchanger and a motor-fan unit. Additionally, the duct includes at least one sound absorption means arranged so that it at least partially limits the propagation of noise annoyance to the outside of the duct. A motor vehicle may include the regulation device.
