A vehicle includes a vehicle body and a vehicle propulsion system. The vehicle propulsion system includes a fuel tank having a nozzle and a tank body. The tank body is made, at least in part, from carbon fiber materials. A method of producing a carbon fiber component for the vehicle is also described.
WELDABLE THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE COMPOSITES
The invention relates to the use of a low Tg compatible resin as an adhesive layer for the welding of a thermoplastic composite structure to a thermoplastic or thermoset structure. The invention is especially good for the welding of large parts, such as wind turbine halves and spar caps. A useful thermoplastic composite is one formed by the infusion and curing of long fibers by a reactive acrylic liquid resin system, such as ELIUM® resin systems from Arkema.

High-pressure tank and method of manufacturing the same
A high-pressure tank includes a liner for storing a fluid, and a reinforcing layer covering an outer surface of the liner and including a fiber wound around the liner and a resin. The reinforcing layer includes a helical layer group including laminated helical layers, and a large-angle layer provided adjacent to the helical layer group and on the liner-side. The helical layer group includes an innermost layer that is closest to the liner and that is one of first and second helical layers respectively having the largest and second largest fiber winding angles, an outermost layer that is closest to an outer surface of the high-pressure tank and that is the other one of the first and second helical layers, and an intermediate layer disposed between the innermost and outermost layers and including a helical layer that is smaller in winding angle than the innermost and outermost layers.

A method of forming a self-sealing fuel tank includes: providing a container including internal surfaces and external surfaces and configured to hold a fuel; forming a latex coating layer over at least a portion of the internal surfaces and/or external surfaces; depositing or encapsulating an environmental layer over at least a portion of the latex coating layer; where the latex coating layer swells when contacted with the fuel; and where the latex coating layer is formed from a latex coating composition that is substantially free of a non-ionic associative thickener.

A tank made of resin provided with a barrier layer, which prevents the barrier layer from rolling up and has improved durability. In a tank made of resin that includes a barrier layer provided on an inner surface of a tank body made of resin, an opening part is provided in the barrier layer, a thick part projecting toward an inside or an outside of the tank body is provided in a resin layer at an outer peripheral part of the opening part, and the barrier layer and a casting flange part at a base of an oil filling port tubular part are molded with the resin of the tank body in a state in which the casting flange part is located at the thick part.

A fuel tank (10) includes: a lower panel (12) made of steel and an upper panel (11) made of steel; and at least one pillar (100) made of steel which is disposed in an interior space (V) formed by the lower panel (12) and the upper panel (11) facing each other and of which a first end portion is fixed to the lower panel (12) and a second end portion is fixed to the upper panel (11) in a state where the second end portion is disposed in a hole formed in the upper panel (11).

A plastics container of modular construction includes a first plastics segment and a second plastics segment. The first and second plastics segments are connected to one another by plastics welding. At least one of the first and second plastics segments has a paintable surface layer on an outer side thereof or is comprised of a paintable material.
FUEL TANK
Provided is a fuel tank having a built-in component placeable with high accuracy. The fuel tank has a built-in component, and the built-in component includes: a carrier as a rigid body having fittings; and pillars having fitted portions to be respectively fitted into the fittings of the carrier; wherein the fittings include at least one slidable fitting having one of the fitted portions of the pillars slidably fitted thereinto due to post-molding shrinkage of the fuel tank, and a fixed fitting having another one of the fitted portions of the pillars fitted thereinto so as not to be slidable, wherein a slidable direction of the at least one slidable fitting is directed toward the fixed fitting.
