Electric vehicle comprising a vertical electric propulsion motor and method of making and using the same
An electric vehicle comprises a vehicle chassis extending along a longitudinal axis and a rotatable vehicle drive axle disposed along a transverse axis and having opposed ends that are configured for attachment to a pair of opposed drive wheels. The electric vehicle also comprises a selectively movable electric propulsion motor comprising a rotatable motor shaft rotatable about a motor axis, the electric propulsion motor configured to be mounted within the vehicle chassis and operatively coupled to the rotatable vehicle drive axle and opposed drive wheels, the motor axis configured to be oriented in a substantially vertical direction.
DISCONNECTOR ASSEMBLY FOR WHEEL HUB TRANSMISSION
A disconnector assembly for a wheel hub transmission where the wheel hub transmission may have an input shaft that receives an input torque from a drive unit. The disconnector assembly may have a first coupling portion driven by the input shaft, and a connector having a second coupling portion and being axially displaceable between a first axial position and a second axial position. Each of the first and second coupling portions may have at least two engagement sections and at least one disengagement section positioned between the engagement sections. The engagement sections of the first and second coupling portions may engage each other when the connector assumes the first axial position. When the connector assumes the second axial position, at least one engagement section of the first and second coupling portion may be received in the disengagement section of the respective other of the first and second coupling portion.
UNIVERSAL DRIVING DEVICE
A universal driving device includes a sun gear rotatably provided; a ring gear disposed on a rotation plane coplanar to a rotation plane of the sun gear and provided so that a rotation shaft of the ring gear is movable relative to a rotation shaft of the sun gear; and a gear train engaging the sun gear to the ring gear and configured to allow a relative motion between the rotation shaft of the sun gear and the rotation shaft of the ring gear and define a continuous power transmission state between the sun gear and the ring gear.
Vehicle Rear Drive Axle
A rear drive axle assembly includes fixedly attaching right and left axles to right and left rear wheels. Inner ends of the axles residing in a tube and reach in to almost a center of the vehicle, and extend out through self-aligning, pillow block bearings. Sprockets are attached to the axles between outer ends of the tube and the pillow block bearings. Negligible friction between the axles and tube is the only rotational coupling of the axles. The Rigid Tube provides concentricity between the two axles, provides perpendicularity of the drive wheels to the road surface and performs the function of a sleeve bearing.
Portal axle drive for a drive axle of an electric vehicle
A portal axle drive for a vehicle axle of an electric vehicle with driving wheels includes a drive shaft (AN) with an input axis (a) and an output shaft (AB) with an output and wheel axis (b). The input axis (a) and the output axis (b) have an axial or portal offset (c). A first gear stage (Ü1) is arranged between the drive shaft (AN) and the output shaft (AB). In an axial direction, a second gear stage (Ü2) is arranged next to the first gear stage (Ü1) and an engagement device (SE) is arranged next to the second gear stage (Ü2). The first gear stage (Ü1) and the second gear stage (Ü2) are engageable via the engagement device (SE).
Electric portal wheel hub system
An electrical portal wheel hub system is coupled with a wheel and has an electric motor/generator, such as an axial flux motor configured therein and configured to provide power or torque to drive the wheel. The electric motor may be offset vertically from the rotational axis of the wheel to provide additional ground clearance. The electric motor may drive an input gear that is coupled with an output gear that in turns drives the wheel mount and wheel. The gearing ratio can be selected based on the application. A drive axle may from the vehicle may couple with the electric motor and the electric motor may be used to provide supplemental power to drive the wheels. The hub casing may provide mounts for the upper and lower A-arms as well as for a steering arm. The electric motor may act as a generator to charge a battery.
THREE-WHEELED VEHICLE
A three-wheeled vehicle is disclosed having a vehicle frame supported by front ground engaging members and a single rear ground engaging member. The vehicle includes an engine positioned forward of an operator area and a swing arm coupled to the single rear ground engagement member. The operator area of the vehicle may include seating for a driver and a passenger.
In-wheel motor drive device
An in-wheel motor drive device (10) includes: a motor portion (21); a casing (43) housing a rotation transmission path from a motor rotation shaft of the motor portion to a rotating wheel; a suspending bracket (61) including an upper joining seat portion (62) joinable with an upper side suspension member (76) of a suspension device, a lower joining seat portion (64) joinable with a lower side suspension member (71) of the suspension device, and an intermediate portion (63) connecting the upper joining seat portion and the lower joining seat portion, and a fixing means (69) for mounting and fixing the suspending bracket (61) to an outer wall surface of the casing (43).
Hydrostatic transaxle
A hydrostatic transaxle includes: a casing that is provided with an openable and closable filter insertion port and is filled with hydraulic oil; a hydraulic continuously variable transmission that is arranged inside the casing; a filter holding member that includes a support base that is a hollow cylindrical portion and oil-tightly partitions an inside of a cylinder and an outside of the cylinder, and a filter connection port that is a hollow cylindrical portion extending from a peripheral side surface of the support base and communicating with the inside of the cylinder, the support base communicating the inside of the cylinder to the port, and arranged between the center section and the casing facing the port; and a filter body that is freely inserted to and removed from the casing via the filter insertion port.
Electric axle module with 2-speed transmission for hybrid passenger vehicle
An electric axle assembly includes an electric motor having an output shaft. A two stage gear train is coupled with the output shaft. The two stage gear train includes two reduction gears which provide different gear ratios. A differential is provided. A hollow differential input shaft is splined with the differential wherein the hollow input shaft supports driven gears that rotate independently relative to the hollow differential input shaft. A sliding dog clutch is splined to the hollow differential input shaft selectively engaging the driven gears or maintaining a neutral position wherein the electric motor and gear train are disconnected from the differential.
