An adjustable pedal block is an apparatus that limits the maximum travel speed of a vehicle. The apparatus may also require additional tools to disable the apparatus. The apparatus includes a block body, a pedal-receiving slot, a stopper assembly, and at least one spacer. The block body engages with a pedal and connects the stopper assembly with the pedal. The pedal-receiving slot allows the pedal to traverse into the block body while preserving the structural integrity of the block body. The stopper assembly offsets the pedal from the floor of the vehicle and limits the actuation of the pedal. The at least one spacer tightens the pedal with the block body and secures the position of the pedal within the pedal-receiving slot. The pedal and the at least one spacer are secured within the block body with a left clamp assembly and a right clamp assembly of the apparatus.

PEDAL DEVICE

A pedal device comprises a brake pedal, an accelerator pedal, a support member and an adjusting device. The brake pedal is operated to be depressed by a leg of a passenger, and an operation amount of a depressing operation of the brake pedal is transmitted as an electrical signal. The accelerator pedal is operated to be depressed by a leg of the passenger, and an operation amount of a depressing operation of the accelerator pedal is transmitted as an electrical signal. The support member is connected with the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal, respectively, to support the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal in a rotatable manner. The adjusting device adjusts a position or a posture of the pedal unit including the brake pedal, the accelerator pedal, and the support member.

Pedal adjustment can include rotation of a pedal pad, rotation of portions of a pedal pad, and multibody pedal pad configurations. According to embodiment, a pedal pad includes vibrational elements to control vibration of the pedal. Embodiments are also directed to a pedal configuration including a flip plate. Systems are provided including a controller to control a pedal configuration and positioning elements. The controller may control the pedal based on a driving mode, such as an assistive driving state wherein operator is instructed to apply a pedal.

One-pedal drive filters and rate limits of powertrain torque

A vehicle includes a powertrain having an electric machine configured to power driven wheels, an accelerator pedal, and a brake pedal. A controller is programmed to, in response to driver-demanded torque corresponding to a position of the accelerator pedal, selectively brake the vehicle via operation of the electric machine, in further response to a speed of the vehicle being greater than a threshold, limit a rate of change of the driver-demanded torque commanded to the powertrain based on a first rate limit, and, in further response to the speed being less than another threshold, limit a rate of change of the driver-demanded torque commanded to the powertrain based on a second rate limit that is higher than the first rate limit such that, for a given driver-demanded torque, acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle is more responsive than when the first rate limit is applied.
