FOLDABLE PEDAL APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A foldable pedal apparatus of a vehicle may have a configuration in which an accelerator pedal assembly and a brake pedal assembly are rotated in a rearward direction from a vehicle body panel and are popped-up to be exposed toward a driver to allow the pedal assemblies to be capable of being controlled when in a situation of manual driving mode, and in which the pedal assemblies are rotated in a frontward direction and are inserted in respective panel grooves of the vehicle body panel so that the pedal assemblies are in a hidden state where exposure thereof toward the driver is blocked to allow the pedal assemblies to be unable to be controlled in a situation of autonomous driving mode where the driver does not directly drive.
FOLDABLE PEDAL APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A foldable pedal apparatus of a vehicle may include a pedal pad, in which in a manual driving mode situation where a driver directly drives the vehicle, the pedal pad projects into an internal space of the vehicle and is popped up to be exposed toward the driver, whereas in an autonomous driving mode situation where the driver does not directly drive the vehicle, the pedal pad is inserted into a protection cover and is in a hide state where the exposure of the pedal pad toward the driver side is blocked, so that in the hide state of the pedal pad, a prominent internal design of the vehicle may be secured, and when the pedal pad is changed from the hide state to a popup state, the pedal pad is popped up through a small-sized panel hole formed on a footrest panel, and thus a high-tech image may be maximized.
POWERTRAIN SITUATIONAL CALIBRATION
A powertrain system includes a powertrain and a controller. The controller commands a change in torque produced by the powertrain for a given change in pedal position according to a default calibration schedule that is defined by a driving style of a driver such that the change in torque is different for different drivers.
ADJUSTABLE THROTTLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY
An adjustable throttle pedal assembly comprises a depressible throttle pedal, biased away from the depressed position, towards a rest position, and an electro-magnetic brake, operable to adjust the force required to depress the throttle pedal. The electro magnetic brake can provide an increased force so as to act as a “virtual footrest”, a “virtual kick-down switch”, or an “ICE force-indent”. providing an increased force at the point which the vehicle will need to start the internal combustion engine (ICE). Moreover, the electromagnetic brake is adjustable to provide different customisable “pedal-weight” settings, to suit a driver's preferred force feedback. For example, discrete pedal weight settings, may be selectable, with a greater retarding force provided by the electromagnetic brake to provide a firmer weight, or the pedal weight can be customisable and calibrated to a given driver.
VEHICLE PEDAL INSTALLATION STRUCTURE
A pedal installation structure for a vehicle, the pedal installation structure including: a pedal provided at a front portion of a vehicle cabin interior, the pedal having a pedal pad to which stepping force is applied and that is supported so as to be able to pivot around a shaft portion provided along a vehicle transverse direction; a harness connected to the pedal, the harness having, at a vehicle longitudinal direction front side of the pedal, a surplus length portion by which slack is obtained; and a guiding member that guides the harness such that the harness is routed at an outer side of the pedal pad, as seen in a plan view.
Foldable pedal apparatus for autonomous traveling vehicle
A foldable pedal apparatus of an autonomous traveling vehicle, is configured so that a pedal pad is popped-up by moving toward a driver to be exposed to enable an operation of the pedal pad by a driver in a manual driving mode situation in which the driver directly drives the vehicle, and the pedal pad moves forward and is in close contact with a vehicle body panel to disable the operation of the pedal pad by the driver in an autonomous traveling mode in which the driver does not directly drive the vehicle, facilitating a hidden state where exposure toward the driver is blocked.
Foldable pedal apparatus for vehicle
A foldable pedal apparatus for a vehicle includes a manual driving mode of the vehicle in which a driver drives a vehicle manually, and a pedal pad protrudes from a pedal casing and enters a pop-up state where the pedal pad is exposed toward the driver, and an autonomous driving mode of the vehicle in which the driver does not drive, and the pedal pad is retracted into the pedal casing and enters a hiding state where exposure of the pedal pad toward the driver is prevented. An interior design of the vehicle is optimized by allowing the pedal pad to pop up through a panel hole formed on a footrest panel when the pedal pad changes from the hiding state to the pop-up state.
PEDAL-APPLICATION-ERROR ACCIDENT PREVENTING DEVICE
A pedal-application-error accident preventing device to be applied to a vehicle includes a steering-wheel-position changing mechanism, a steering-wheel-position adjuster, and an accelerator-pedal-position adjuster. The steering-wheel-position changing mechanism is configured to displace a steering wheel of the vehicle in a vehicle forward-rearward direction. The steering-wheel-position adjuster is configured to displace the steering wheel in accordance with an operation amount of an accelerator pedal of the vehicle such that the steering wheel is positioned further toward a vehicle rearward side as the operation amount of the accelerator pedal operated by a driver who drives the vehicle increases. The accelerator-pedal-position adjuster is configured to displace the accelerator pedal in a direction such that the operation amount of the accelerator pedal returns to zero in a case where the steering wheel is pushed back forward in a state in which the steering wheel is displaced toward the vehicle rearward side.
VEHICLE HAVING MULTIPLE DRIVING POSITIONS
Vehicles, steering systems, and steering assemblies of a vehicle are provided in the present disclosure. According to one embodiment, a steering system includes a track oriented substantially in a side-to-side direction with respect to the vehicle. The side-to-side direction may be substantially horizontal with a ground surface and substantially perpendicular with a forward-facing direction of the vehicle. The steering system also includes a steering wheel adapted to slide laterally along the track. In another embodiments, the present disclosure provides a vehicle comprising a steering wheel assembly adapted to be positioned in laterally variable locations with respect to the vehicle, whereby the steering wheel assembly is further adapted to enable a driver to manually operate the vehicle from a left-hand side of the vehicle and from a right-hand side of the vehicle.
