Vehicle and method for controlling the same
A vehicle and a method for controlling the same are provided to secure additional distance to empty (DTE) of the vehicle by controlling the use of a load that is consuming battery power or by changing driving mode, when a recharging station is unavailable within DTE of the vehicle at a current battery charge level. The vehicle includes a DTE calculator that calculates DTE of the vehicle based on a battery charge level and a cluster that displays the calculated DTE. A controller detects a recharging station located within the calculated DTE and transmits a control signal to create an interface for controlling battery power consumption based on battery power consumed by at least one load when a recharging station is unavailable within the calculated DTE and a display displays the created interface.
In vehicle driver feedback device
The disclosure relates generally to an in-vehicle feedback system, and more particularly, to an in-vehicle device with a display or graphical interface that collects driving data and provides feedback based on the driving data. The system may comprise an in-vehicle device that includes a graphical user interface and a processor and a data collection device wirelessly connected to the in-vehicle device. The in-vehicle device may be configured to receive vehicle telematics data from the data collection device and the processor may process the telematics data in real time and cause the telematics data to be displayed on the graphical user interface. The graphical user interface may include a speed display and an acceleration display.
Driving evaluation device, driving evaluation method, and non-transitory readable recording medium storing driving evaluation program
A driving evaluation device includes a processor. The processor is configured to acquire vehicle information including a vehicle speed in each trip of a vehicle, evaluate an economical level of each trip of the vehicle based on smallness of change in vehicle speed, and change an evaluation method of the economical level based on the smallness of the change in vehicle speed according to the maximum speed in each trip.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM OF A TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE
A method for operating a driver assistance system of the transportation vehicle to assist a driver while the transportation vehicle is travelling. A virtual transportation vehicle is displayed to the driver of the transportation vehicle on at least one display element wherein the virtual transportation vehicle is varied in respect of its size and/or position and/or its appearance on the display element while the virtual transportation vehicle is displayed on the display element. A transportation vehicle having a driver assistance system.
Method and device for determining a measure of brake system usage during operation of a vehicle
A method, system and computer program product are provided for determining a measure of brake system usage during operation of a vehicle, the vehicle comprising a power source for generating a motive force for propulsion of the vehicle in a first direction of travel, and driver controllable means for requesting a brake force that acts against a movement of the vehicle in the first direction of travel. When a driver of the vehicle requests a brake force, the method comprises determining an influence on the vehicle acceleration caused by the request for brake force; and determining, based on the determined influence, a measure of brake system usage of the vehicle, the measure indicating a level of economical driving, wherein a particular level is arranged to depend on the magnitude of the influence on the vehicle acceleration caused by the request for brake force.
METHOD FOR INFLUENCING THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF A MOTOR
A method for influencing the energy consumption during the operation of a motor, particularly a motor in a vehicle, to reduce the total amount of energy consumed. A setpoint value that is based on a parameter that correlates with the energy consumed by the motor is defined. The parameter can be distance consumption, for example, mpg or liter/100 km, or some other parameter that correlates with the energy consumed. The actual value of the parameter is calculated during operation of the motor and compared with the setpoint value. Energy consumption is reduced if the actual value exceeds the setpoint. The method allows some flexibility in defining how frequently or when a reduction in the energy consumption is effected, in order to accommodate particular operating or driving conditions or driving behavior. One example of the variation is a consumption credit that possibly allows an overrun of the setpoint value.
Output device of a motor vehicle and associated operating method
A method for operating an output apparatus of a motor vehicle performed by the output apparatus and including receiving a first consumption signal that indicates a consumption relating to a first form of energy measured in a first unit of measurement, receiving a second consumption signal that indicates a consumption relating to a second form of energy measured in a second unit of measurement, providing at least one reference element that indicates a respective predetermined standard consumption, displaying the at least one reference element on a display unit, and controlling a position of a consumption display element on the display unit based on the two consumption signals and, as a result, adjusting a relative position of the consumption display element with regard to the at least one reference element.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED VEHICLE PERFORMANCE ANALYTICS
A vehicle includes a controller programmed to activate a fuel savings feature upon satisfaction of transition conditions and inhibit the transition according to satisfaction of inhibit conditions. The controller is further programmed to accumulate data indicative of the inhibit conditions and a time associated with the conditions being satisfied over a drive cycle.
Performance monitor for a machine
A machine having a ground-engaging work tool is disclosed includes a traction device configured to move the machine on a ground surface, a control system configured to determine a slip experienced by the machine as the machine moves on the ground surface, and a display device. The display device may be configured to pictorially display (a) the determined slip, and (b) one or more target ranges of slip, wherein the machine efficiency when slip has a value within a target range may be higher compared to the efficiency when slip is outside the target range.
SELECTIVELY ILLUMINATED AREA OF AN INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGE
Two separate and differently-colored light sources provide correspondingly-colored light into corresponding light guides that extend part way around the perimeter of a gauge, such as a tachometer dial and adjacent to numerals or digits that correspond to a measured quantity, such as a too-high engine speed range and an energy-saving or eco speed range.
