WINDMILL SYNCHRONIZATION IN AN ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM
A propulsion system is described that includes an electrical bus, a generator configured to provide electrical power to the electrical bus, a plurality of propulsory configured to provide thrust by simultaneously being driven by the electrical power at the electrical bus, and a controller. The controller is configured to synchronize a rotational speed of an individual propulsor from the plurality of propulsory with a rotational speed of the generator after the individual propulsor has become unsynchronized with the rotational speed of the generator by controlling at least one of the rotational speed of the generator, nozzle area of the individual propulsor, or a pitch angle of the individual propulsor.
VEHICLE CONVOY CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A control system identifies vehicle systems for combining into a larger convoy. Each the vehicle systems is formed from at least one propulsion-generating vehicle and at least one non-propulsion-generating vehicle. The control system directs the identified vehicle systems to couple with each other for travel as the convoy from a first location toward a different, second location. The control system directs a first vehicle system in the convoy to separate from the convoy and/or a second vehicle system to join the convoy by coupling with at least one of the vehicle systems in the convoy in an intermediate location between the first and second locations. The vehicles in each of the vehicle systems in the convoy remain connected during separation of the first vehicle system from the convoy and/or during joining of the second vehicle system to the convoy.
METHOD OF OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVEN ELECTRICALLY AT LEAST TEMPORARILY ON A ROADWAY, CONTROL UNIT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND CORRESPONDING MOTOR VEHICLE
In a method of operating a motor vehicle driven electrically, at least temporarily, on a roadway, the motor vehicle is moved fully autonomously by a control unit in response to a command for automatic operating mode. After a charging arm of the motor vehicle has been extended, a lateral control of the motor vehicle is executed to bring the extended charging arm into electric contact with a charging line arranged at or on the roadway. As a result, electric energy provided from the charging line to the charging arm is used for charging an energy accumulator of the motor vehicle and/or operating a drive device of the motor vehicle for moving the motor vehicle. A longitudinal control of the motor vehicle is executed to thereby maintain a predefined longitudinal speed of the motor vehicle until a distance of the motor vehicle reaches a predefined minimum distance to a leading vehicle.
ELECTRICAL DRIVE SYSTEM FOR AN AIRCRAFT AND OPERATING METHOD
An electrical drive system for an aircraft includes: at least one first and one second electrical direct voltage sources for supplying a direct voltage, and a first and a second electrical machine modules configured to convert electrical alternating voltage into mechanical movement and vice versa. The first and second modules are connected to a first and a second power inverters, respectively. The first and second inverters are connected in series and the first and the second direct voltage sources are connected in series to generate an overall direct voltage to which the inverters are connected. The power inverters each has one voltage measuring device for measuring the power inverter direct voltage present at the respective inverter and a power inverter control device for controlling the operation of the inverters in accordance with the power inverter direct voltage.
