Seat assembly for a vehicle
A seat assembly for a vehicle, in particular a public transport vehicle such as a bus or train, comprises a transversely positioned bench seat in front of which there is a wheelchair space. In front of the transversely positioned bench seat in the travel direction of the vehicle is arranged a barrier device comprising at least one barrier element and a rotation axis, about which the barrier element can be moved between a tilted-down position extending in front of the transversely positioned bench seat and a tilted-up position which leaves the wheelchair space free.
Vehicle access system
The embodiments described and claimed herein are improved vehicle access systems. In particular, one embodiment includes three compact, motorized mechanisms for pivoting a passenger seat toward a door opening, extending the passenger seat outside the door opening, lowering the passenger seat, and tilting the passenger seat to help the passenger stand. The first mechanism concurrently pivots the passenger seat and moves it sideways during the pivoting operation so that it is aligned with the door opening. The second mechanism extends the passenger seat outside the door opening. The third mechanism lowers the seat.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat includes a back portion, a seat portion, and two driving assemblies. The back portion includes a resisting portion and a movable portion. The seat portion is coupled to the back portion and includes a bottom wall and a movable wall. One driving assembly is positioned in the back portion and the other driving assembly is positioned in the seat portion. The driving assembly positioned in the back portion is coupled to the movable portion and is configured to drive the movable portion to move relative to the resisting portion. The driving assembly positioned in the seat portion is coupled to the movable wall and is configured to drive the movable wall to move relative to the bottom wall.
FRONT SEAT QUICK RELEASE ARMREST
An armrest assembly for a seat in a modified OEM vehicle. The armrest assembly includes an armrest support having a grommet and a detent pin, wherein the grommet includes a grommet aperture. An armrest includes an armrest aperture and a pin aperture; wherein the armrest aperture is configured to receive the grommet and the pin aperture is configured to receive the detent pin. A quick release connector extends through the grommet aperture and the armrest aperture, wherein the quick release connector includes an actuator to release the armrest from the armrest support. Engagement of the detent pin with the pin aperture prevents rotation of the armrest with respect to the armrest support.
MODULAR ELEMENT FOR A VEHICLE
A module element for a vehicle, in particular a public transport vehicle such as a bus or train, comprises a lower component and an upper component connected to the lower component at an interface. The essentially identical lower component can be combined with different upper components.
VEHICLE ACCESS SEATING
Vehicle access seating supports a user seat unit using a mounting assembly, a fore-aft slide assembly, a swivel assembly and an extension/retraction assembly. The seat unit moves from a secured drive position on either side of the motor vehicle to an access position wherein at least part of the seat is outside the vehicle, facilitating user vehicle access. Moving from the drive position to the access position, the seat moves linearly along two axesone (static) defined by the mounting assembly, and a second axis (pivotable) defined by the seat itselfincreasing the seat occupant's legroom by reducing the clearances between the seat and the vehicle B-pillar and between the seat and the vehicle transmission tunnel. A vertical mounting recline angle improves the occupant headroom inside the vehicle. Moving between the drive and access positions, the seat can move through a narrow transition corridor in the motor vehicle.
Floor tile system for mounting vehicle seats and methods for mounting vehicle seats
A mounting tile for mounting a vehicle seat to a vehicle floor comprises at least two tubular members having a rectangular cross-sectional shape and a U-shaped channel having apertures that may include weld nuts for receiving fastener elements protruding from the bottom of the vehicle seat structure. A method for mounting a vehicle seat using the mounting tile includes affixing angle iron to the side edges of the floor, affixing a layer of metal plating on top of the angle iron, affixing one or more mounting tiles to the metal plating, positioning filler material between the one or more mounting tiles, positioning a floor covering over the mounting tiles and filler material, aligning the fastener elements of the vehicle seat structure with apertures in the mounting tile, and attaching the fastener elements and the seat to the mounting tile.
SEAT FOR A LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE AND METHOD OF USE
Disclosed is a method of use of a movable seat for a law enforcement vehicle. A method of restraining a detainee within a vehicle may include the steps of: opening a door on a vehicle comprising a movable seat; retracting the movable seat from a first position in the vehicle to a second position adjacent the door of the vehicle; seating a detainee in the movable seat of the vehicle; wherein the detainee's hands are restrained behind its back; positioning the detainee's hands in an opening in a back of the movable seat; restraining the detainee in the movable seat with a seat belt coupled to the movable seat; returning the movable seat to the first position inside the vehicle; and closing the door on the vehicle.
Movable stanchion for transit buses
A movable passenger or grab assist is provided for a vehicle. The movable assist finds particular utility in association with a folding seat in a vehicle having a dual-use area, such as a wheelchair securement area adjacent the folding seat. The assist can be moved between a position wherein it can be grabbed by seated or standing passengers and a position that does not interfere with the dual use area when the seat is folded to a storage position.
ALIGNER CHAIR, SUPPORT SYSTEM INCLUDING THE ALIGNER CHAIR AND METHOD FOR SUSPENDING THE ALIGNER CHAIR FROM A LIFT
A chair configured to movably couple to parallel guide rails of a frame includes a support bar having a first end and an opposing second end. A transverse cross-member is coupled to the first end of the support bar. The transverse cross-member has a first side portion and an opposing second side portion. A first support assembly is coupled to the first side portion of the transverse cross-member. The first support assembly is configured to removably couple to a first guide rail of the parallel guide rails. A second support assembly is coupled to the second side portion of the transverse cross-member. The second support assembly is configured to removably couple to a second guide rail of the parallel guide rails.
