The suspended seat apparatus includes a seat base configured to have the seat coupled thereto; a suspension system coupled to the seat base, the suspension system comprising: an adjustment feature configured to adjust operation of the suspension system; and a chassis mount coupled to the suspension system, the chassis mount configured to be coupled to a vehicle.
DRIVER'S SEAT FOR A RAIL VEHICLE
A driver's seat for a rail vehicle includes a seat, a frame, a support, a fastening unit and a compressed air line, ensuring compressed-air-assisted functionalities of the driver's seat. The frame supporting the seat is mounted rotatably and connected to a first end of the support permitting the seat to rotate about an axis of the support. A second end of the support is connected to the fastening unit, fastening the seat in a vehicle control console. The air line ensures compressed-air-assisted seat functionalities and has a first region with partial coils running around the support at a predefined distance. The partial coils are formed and fastened such that rotational movement of the seat effects a change in distance of the partial coils relative to the support. The partial coils of the air line form a spiral, wound around the support at a predefined distance.

An active suspension system comprises at least one biasing device configured to support a body from a structure, and at least one motor. A magnetorheological (MR) fluid clutch apparatus(es) is coupled to the at least one motor to receive torque from the motor, the MR fluid clutch apparatus controllable to transmit a variable amount of torque. A mechanism is between the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus and the body to convert the torque received from the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus into a force on the body. Sensor(s) provide information indicative of a state of the body or structure. A controller receives the information indicative of the state of the body or structure and for outputting a signal to control the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus in exerting a desired force on the body to control movement of the body according to a desired movement behavior.

A seat for a vehicle includes a seat cushion and an adjustment and suspension device having a base fixed to the frame and a supporting plate fixed to the seat cushion movable in translation relative to the base in a direction of elevation. The suspension system may include biasing elements or springs that may be adjusted to vary the preload and thus change the spring and dampening characteristics of the suspension system.
