A vehicle seat includes a fabric center portion, first and second bolsters, a first seam between the first bolster and the center portion, a second seam between the center portion and the second bolster, and a seat frame. First and second extension members are disposed along and coupled to the respective first and second seams. The first and second extension members are adjustable between first and second positions.

PASSENGER SEAT WITH SUSPENDED SEAT DIAPHRAGM

Described are passenger support assemblies for a passenger seat, including an expandable inner frame that attaches the passenger support assembly with a seat frame and an expansion mechanism that allows the expandable inner frame to change in width, and an outer frame that includes two side frame elements connected with the expandable inner frame and extending beyond the expandable inner frame, the outer frame configured to change in width in response to a change in width of the expandable inner frame. A diaphragm can held in tension by the two side frame elements of the outer frame to define a seating surface.

AUTOMOTIVE FOAMLESS SEAT MADE FROM FLEXIBLE MATERIAL

A foamless seating assembly includes a frame having an inner support member and an outer support member. A first plurality of flexible straps extend about the inner support member of the frame. A second plurality of flexible straps extend about the outer support member of the frame. At least one flexible strap of the second plurality of flexible straps of the outer support member are adjacent to at least one flexible strap of the plurality of flexible straps of the inner support member. A tension assembly is operably coupled with the flexible straps and configured to apply tension to the straps simultaneously.

VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat includes a lock-to-neutral-position mechanism that locks a seat cushion at a neutral position, and an immediate lock mechanism that locks the seat cushion immediately at a current position when locking is required. A steering sensor senses a steering angle and a steering angular velocity. The immediate lock mechanism performs the locking when the steering angle is large, whereas the lock-to-neutral-position mechanism performs the locking when the steering velocity is high. When the steering wheel is at the neutral position, the locking by the immediate lock mechanism is released and the locking is switched over to the lock-to-neutral-position mechanism that is in a lock ready state.

Occupant support device for a seat

An occupant support device (OSD) for a seat, comprises a flexible membrane having a first end and a second end. The flexible membrane is coupleable to a seat proximate the first end and the second end of the flexible membrane. The OSD further comprises at least one stiffening member for stiffening the flexible membrane. The at least one stiffening member is positionable so that the flexible membrane is generally stiffer in a longitudinal direction than in a transverse direction. A seat comprising the OSD, an array of seats comprising the OSD and an aircraft comprising the OSD are also provided.

INTER-CONNECTED TETHERS AT REAR OF SEATBACK FOAM FOR OCCUPANT THORACIC PROTECTION

A vehicle seat inter-connected tether assembly includes a first tether, a second tether and a vertically configured third tether positioned between the first tether and the second tether fixedly coupled to and connecting the first tether to the second tether. A connector positioned at distal ends of the first tether and the second tether is configured to couple the first tether and the second tether to opposed seat frame members of a vehicle seat frame.

Passenger seat including a net backrest

Passenger seat assemblies including net backrests are described. An example passenger seat assembly can include a lower frame (14) configured to support a seat bottom (36) of the passenger seat. The passenger seat assembly can also include a backrest frame (18) attached to the lower frame (14) and configured to support a backrest assembly. The backrest assembly can include a backplate (16) disposed adjacent an aft side of the backrest frame (18). The backrest assembly can also include a net material (22) attached to the backplate (16) at a first attachment location (46a) on an aft surface of the backplate (16), extending around a forward side of the backrest frame (18), and attached to the backplate (16) at a second attachment location (46b) on the aft surface.

Mechanism for a supine motor vehicle seating assembly

A seat assembly forming a substantially horizontal plane for an exposed surface of each of a lower seat cushion and a seatback cushion of a seatback comprises a lifter mechanism for a rearward edge of the lower seat cushion. The lifter mechanism comprises a bracket pivotable about a transverse bar fixedly mounted to a frame assembly for a lower seat assembly, the bracket comprising a forward lever and a rearward lever; and a link pinned at a first end to the seatback and pinned at a second end to the rearward lever by a slot. The rearward edge of the lower seat cushion is initially raised by the forward lever upon the seatback pivoting to a predetermined reclined position and the rearward edge of the lower seat cushion is raised to the substantially horizontal plane upon the seatback pivoting to a fully reclined position.

SUSPENSION FABRIC SEAT HEATING SYSTEM

A suspension fabric seat includes a fabric seat surface formed from a woven fabric material having heating element fibers. The heating element fibers are in electrical communication with a conductor. A carrier is overmolded onto the seat surface. The carrier and the conductor are disposed in a frame and a connector is mounted to the frame in electrical communication with the conductor.
