A head rest is provided that can secure backward view when it is not used, and enable adjustment of its front-and-rear position in use. A head rest is rotatable from a rearmost position to a stored position in which the head rest is tilted down forward. When the head rest is in a use range from the rearmost position to a forward adjustment limit position located in front, the tilting angle of the head rest is adjustable with in-use tilting-angle adjustment means, and the head rest can be rotated forward to the stored position and rotated backward to the rearmost position with unlock means. By contrast, when the head rest is in the stored position, forward rotation and backward rotation of the head rest are regulated with storage backward rotation regulating means, and the head rest can be rotated backward to the rearmost position with unlock means.

A patch element 20 of a doughnut-like disc shape is fixedly provided, by sewing or adhesive, to a reverse surface of a seat-back-side area 12a defined in a trim cover assembly section covering a top region 12 of a headrest HR, in such a fashion that the patch element 20 circumscribes an entire edge of a headrest stay passage hole 14. Additionally, the patch element 20 is formed from a material capable of being impregnated with a liquid foaming agent injected in the trim cover assembly 2. Such patch element 20 has been impregnated with the liquid foaming agent S injected in the trim cover assembly 2 during a foaming process to form the headrest HR. Consequently, a density of the patch element 20 itself becomes extremely high, and therefore a strength of the patch element 20 can be increased to a great degree.

The invention relates to a vehicle seat (1) with a framework (2) for fastening the vehicle seat (1) to a vehicle body (6), with a seat part (3), with a backrest (4) and with a head support (5) comprising a head support suspension (9), in which the seat part (3) and the backrest (4) are arranged on the framework (2), in which the head support suspension (9) is formed by the framework (2) or is fastened to the framework (2) and in which the head support suspension (9) has a suspension part (12) on the side towards the framework and a suspension part (13) on the side towards the backrest, wherein the suspension part (13) on the side towards the backrest is arranged outside the backrest (4).
