A lifting device for lifting the bed of a truck comprises a bracket configured to be coupled to an undercarriage of the truck and a lifting mechanism coupled to the bracket. The lifting mechanism extends from the bracket to the underside of the bed and moves between a retracted position where the bed is supported by the undercarriage and an extended position where at least a portion of the bed is raised relative to the undercarriage.

A dump trailer and a hydraulic cylinder assembly for the dump trailer are described herein. The cylinder assembly includes a first barrel, a second barrel rigidly coupled to the first barrel along a longitudinal axis of the cylinder assembly, and a piston assembly. The first barrel includes an inlet port for receiving vehicle hydraulic fluid and an outlet port for providing the vehicle hydraulic fluid to the vehicle. The second barrel includes an inlet port and an outlet port for providing dump trailer hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic lifting mechanism of the dump trailer. The piston assembly includes a first piston and a second piston coupled to the first piston by a shaft. The piston assembly is configured to provide the dump trailer hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic lifting mechanism to lift a box of the dump trailer when the cylinder assembly receives hydraulic fluid from the vehicle.

A dump trailer and a hydraulic cylinder assembly for the dump trailer are described herein. The piston assembly includes a first piston and a second piston coupled to the first piston by a shaft. The piston assembly is configured to provide the dump trailer hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic lifting mechanism to lift a box of the dump trailer when the cylinder assembly receives hydraulic fluid from the vehicle.

A system for detecting distribution of a weight of a payload in a dump body of a vehicle includes first sensors, second sensors, and a controller. The dump body is pivotable about pins to be selectively seated and titled to a frame of the vehicle. The first sensors are arranged between the dump body and the frame, and detect components of the weight of the payload exerted through the dump body when the dump body is seated relative to the frame. The second sensors are arranged correspondingly within the pins, and detect components of the weight of the payload exerted through the dump body. The controller determines a status of payload distribution in the dump body based on the component of the weight of the payload detected by the first sensors and second sensors, and generate a notification to indicate the status of payload distribution.

An elongated tub includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end. An A-frame structure includes a force transfer vertex positioned adjacent to a top portion of the first end, a first pivot vertex pivotally and releasably coupled to an elongated frame, and a second pivot vertex pivotally and releasably coupled to the elongated frame. The A-frame structure includes a first force transfer beam coupled to the first end and coupled between the force transfer vertex and the first pivot vertex, a second force transfer beam coupled to the first end and coupled between the force transfer vertex and the second pivot vertex, and a separation beam coupled to the first pivot vertex and the second pivot vertex.

An elongated tub includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end. An A-frame structure includes a force transfer vertex positioned adjacent to a top portion of the first end, a first pivot vertex pivotally and releasably coupled to an elongated frame, and a second pivot vertex pivotally and releasably coupled to the elongated frame. The A-frame structure includes a first force transfer beam coupled to the first end and coupled between the force transfer vertex and the first pivot vertex, a second force transfer beam coupled to the first end and coupled between the force transfer vertex and the second pivot vertex, and a separation beam coupled to the first pivot vertex and the second pivot vertex.

The present invention consists of a powered wood chipper mounted directly or indirectly to the frame of a utility type truck, thus eliminating the need for a separate trailer to carry said wood chipper to job sites. Said invention may also include a dump box, mounted directly or indirectly to the frame of the utility type truck, and whereby said dump box may be a sideways tilting assembly or may have a fixed position and incorporate a slanted or tilting floor assembly. Said dump box may also include a unique horizontal dump door arrangement with both an upper and lower doors. Presence of said lower dump door allows the dump box to discharge its load at a distance from the utility type vehicle. Said dump box may also feature slanted side or top surfaces, which may allow for greater visibility from the cab of the utility type vehicle and/or greater aerodynamics. These slanted side or top surfaces also allow the overall vehicle to have a narrower or lower profile and a lower center of gravity, leading to improved handling and safety for the work crew.

A multi-panel cover includes end panels that connect first and second lateral panels. The lateral panels seat against the tailgate assembly of a truck body and are maintained in position by magnets incorporated into a lateral panel along the edges and between the side panels to form a pocket to collect debris that may otherwise escape through or around the tailgate of the vehicle. A peripheral sealing material such as an elastic cord or hook and loop seal may be positioned around the tailgate gap to augment sealing.
