Cargo Tie-Down
A tie-down assembly for a vehicle includes a bolt having a head and a shaft and a face plate having an aperture configured to receive the bolt therethrough. A carrier includes an attachment surface configured to engage the faceplate and a first stop tab. A lock plate is configured to be disposed about the bolt comprising and includes an aperture configured to receive the bolt therethrough. A first edge of the lock plate is configured to engage the first stop tab, thereby preventing rotational movement of the lock plate in a first direction.
REDUCTION GEAR BOX FOR A CHAIN BINDER
The reduction gear box for a chain binder generally includes a housing member, a nozzle on the housing member to which a power tool may be connected, and an opening in the housing member within which the shaft portion of a chain binder may extend. The housing member includes a worm gear assembly and a main gear assembly therein. The worm gear assembly is in communication with the main gear assembly such that rotation of the worm gear assembly causes the main gear assembly also to rotate. In use, a shaft portion of a chain binder can be positioned within the housing opening and in communication with the main gear assembly. The power tool can be operated to rotate the worm gear assembly, and thereby effectuate rotation of the main gear assembly to extend or retract the chain binder in communication therewith.
Mechanically actuated cargo restraint system
A mechanically actuated cargo restraint system for a vehicle includes a rotatable reel in a frame, first and second flexible tethers, and a mechanical device. The first flexible tether has a first end coupled to the rotatable reel and a second end capable of being coupled to a cargo item, the first flexible tether is windable around the rotatable reel. The mechanical device includes a pawl and cog that are movable with respect to each other, the pawl coupled to the rotatable reel for rotatable movement therewith. Movement of a cargo item attached to the first flexible tether that causes the first flexible tether to move in an unwinding direction on the rotatable reel causes movement of the pawl-containing member relative to the cog. Velocity in the unwinding direction such as that encountered during a crash or free-fall engages the pawl into the cog, thereby inhibiting movement of the first flexible tether in an unwinding direction on the rotatable reel.
Strap retaining apparatus
The disclosure provides an air deflection apparatus for deflecting airflow around a segment of a strap when the strap is tensioned for securing a load on a movable transport.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DOCUMENTING THE TENSION IN A TENSIONING BELT
The invention relates to a device for measuring the tension in a tensioning belt, comprising a retaining device for retaining a spring element, an elastically deformable spring element that is retained by the retaining device and on which a section of the tensioning belt can apply a force and elastically deform the spring element the ends of the spring element being moved closer to one another when the tensioning force increases, and an electronic sensor unit. The sensor unit comprises a sensor system that measures the deflection of the spring element and generates a data signal, and a transmitter for transmitting the data signal to a receiving unit. The sensor system is situated at the ends of the spring element. The sensor unit may also be used for documenting the measured values of the tension.
Deployable trail sight
A trail sight for a vehicle, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a body configured to extend in a longitudinal direction along a length of a vehicle, wherein the body comprises a first portion fixed to a vehicle body structure and a second portion that is moveable relative to the first portion between a retracted position and a deployed position.
TRUCK BED WITH SELECTIVELY ACTUATED MAGNETIC FLOOR SECTIONS
A pick-up truck bed having controllably magnetized areas for retaining cargo or attachment devices. A first permanent magnet may be attached below the lower surface of the truck bed with a second permanent being rotatable relative to the first permanent magnet to control the magnetic flux provided to retain objects in the truck bed. Alternatively, one or more electromagnets may be provided that may be turned on to retain objects in the truck bed and turned off to allow removal of objects.
