A golf club simulation apparatus includes an elongate shaft housing having opposed lower and upper ends and defining an interior area. A club head member is coupled to the lower end of the shaft housing. A battery is situated in one of the club head member and the shaft housing. An input member configured to receive club selection data is coupled to an outer surface of the shaft housing and electrically connected to the battery. A mass variability assembly is electrically connected to the input member and includes a weight member situated in the shaft housing that is selectively movable therein according to the club selection data. An electronics module having an angular sensing sensor is situated in the club head member. A bend variability assembly is included in the shaft housing for selectively altering a feel characteristic of the shaft housing during a swing motion.

Athletic swing training weight and method

A swing training weight and method for building the strength and control of a user, while teaching proper swing mechanics. The swing training weight is attached to athletic equipment during training or while warming up for competition, and provides an improved means of release from the athletic equipment. The swing training weight incorporates a sliding member that simulates the impact of striking an object and provides audible, visual and tactile feedback to the user pertaining to the proper execution of the swing. Training methods using the swing training weight are provided that improve athletic performance, and allow for focused training of the proper execution of specific elements of an athletic swing. Further, the swing training weight incorporates a movable stop that allows the weight to be configured to provide for training methods that further focus on the proper execution of specific swing elements.

A training bat has a central rod extending through the longitudinal length of the bat. A knob may be located at a proximal end of the bat. A handle located immediately distal to the knob may slide along the length of the rod. A cone section may be located distal to the handle. The knob and cone section may limit the longitudinal sliding of the handle. A barrel section may be located distal to the cone section. If the barrel section includes an interior chamber, the distal end of the barrel section may include a removable cap. Weights, springs, pins and other objects may be located inside the barrel section. Electrical components or other devices may also be included in the cone section, barrel section or cap. The handle may include an acoustic chamber and an amplifying chamber to provide for emission of a sound when the bat is swung. The acoustic chamber and amplifying chamber may also incorporate safety features.

This application provides for a new, synergistic combination of components for training an element of the golf swing normally referred to as lag. This new combination consists of a basic lag swing trainer which enables the golfer to attach additional multiple training tools or regulation golf clubs that can be interchangeably used at the same time. The additional combinations of tools that can be attached are unlimited, thereby letting golfers work on more than one of the various aspects of the swing all at the same time, for example, training the golfer in the proper sensations of the backswing technique, the swing plane, and the release of the golf club thru the hitting area. The Golf Swing Lag Training System provides any golfer with all of the kinesthetic and visual feedback that is essential to learning how to lag the golf club like a tour pro.

An apparatus for training a swing has a hollow shaft with a proximal end and a distal end, a coupling member positioned inside the shaft adjacent the distal end of the shaft, and a sliding cartridge positioned inside the shaft and removably coupled to the coupling member, the sliding cartridge being slideable inside the shaft. An elastic band assembly is positioned on the sliding cartridge and has one end coupled to the sliding cartridge and another end configured to be removably couplable to the coupling member. When the elastic band assembly is coupled to the coupling member, the elastic band assembly resists movement of the sliding cartridge towards the proximal end of the shaft.
