In a vehicle front lighting apparatus, the number of switch elements brought into an opened state and an applied voltage value is detected every time a predetermined detection condition is satisfied, the amount of change from the number of switch elements detected last time and the amount of change from the voltage value detected last time are acquired, and it is determined that a disconnection has occurred if the amount of change in the number of switch elements does not match the amount of change in the voltage value.

The arms are configured to move from closed to open when a force is applied on the housing's backside so that depression of a flexible indentation or membrane causes associated arms to spread open and receive harness components. Furthermore, arms may move from open to closed position when an applied force is released on a flexible membrane so that a received harness component becomes secured between arms.
Deceleration-triggered automatic brake indication
Automatic deceleration indication involves a deceleration sensor unit that senses deceleration and a microprocessor that causes deceleration warning light illumination when a sensed deceleration exceeds a threshold value. The deceleration sensor unit may include a solid state accelerometer acting as a deceleration sensor, a GPS module acting as a deceleration sensor, or both. The deceleration warning light my be a brake light, a separate warning light attached to a vehicle, or worn by an operator or passenger of bicycle, scooter, or motorcycle.

LIGHTING CIRCUIT
A semiconductor light source includes multiple light-emitting elements coupled in series. A driving circuit receives an input voltage, and supplies a driving current to the semiconductor light source. A bypass circuit is coupled to a part of the multiple light-emitting elements. When a low-voltage state occurs, the bypass circuit is set to the enabled state, thereby bypassing the driving current. An auxiliary power supply circuit is coupled in series with the part of the multiple light-emitting elements. When an expected current does not flow through the auxiliary power supply circuit after the bypass circuit is set to the disabled state, a judgement unit judges that an open-circuit fault has occurred in the part of the multiple light-emitting elements.

A light-emitting diode (LED) system of an at least partially autonomous vehicle can include a first group of LEDs including cyan and amber LEDs, a second group of LEDs including cyan and at least one of red or amber LEDs, a third group of LEDs including cyan LEDs, and a controller configured to receive a first control signal indicating whether the at least partially autonomous vehicle is in autonomous drive mode or manual drive mode and cause the cyan LEDs of the first, second, and third groups LEDs to provide perceived cyan light when and only when the autonomous vehicle is in the autonomous drive mode.
TAILLIGHT ENHANCEMENT HARNESS FOR A TOWED VEHICLE
A taillight enhancement harness for providing a lighting enhancement to a taillight of a towed vehicle. The harness interconnects a first lighting system of a towing vehicle and a second lighting system of the towed vehicle. A lighting enhancement circuit is interposed between a first connector, configured to couple to the towing vehicle, and a second connector, configured to couple to the towed vehicle. The lighting enhancement circuit is configured to activate a taillight of the towed vehicle in a strobe operation. After a predetermined temporal period, the taillight resumes a normal indication operating mode for the taillight.

A vehicle lamp assembly includes, a lamp housing defining an interior cavity and an exterior surface, a circuit board disposed within the interior cavity, the circuit board including a memory device, microprocessor and a connector for establishing a communication link with the memory device and the microprocessor. A vent opening within the lamp housing aligned with the connector on the circuit board and a permeable membrane is attached over the vent opening. Alignment of the vent opening with the connector provides access for reflashing upon removal of the permeable membrane.
