Land vehicles adapted for use as electric delivery vehicles
A land vehicle includes a frame structure, a plurality of wheels supported by the frame structure, and a body supported by the frame structure. The frame structure includes an operator cage that at least partially defines an operator cabin and a rear compartment positioned rearward of the operator cage in a longitudinal direction. The body includes a first sidewall arranged on one side of the vehicle and a second sidewall arranged on another side of the vehicle opposite the first sidewall.

Vehicular lighting using passive and/or active optics
A reflector unit may behave as a retroreflector to reflect light of a selected color. The reflector unit may comprise a first reflector having a first color, a second reflector having a second color, and a mask that either allows incoming light to reach the first reflector and not the second reflector or allows incoming light to reach the second reflector and not the first reflector. An active light unit may emit light of a particular color in response to receiving light. In this fashion, the active light unit may simulate the operation of a reflector. The reflector unit and the active light unit may operate on a bi-directional vehicle.
Vehicle side and rear exterior illumination and projection
Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed in which one or more light sources, a detector, a processor and a controller are configured such that light from the one or more light sources can provide illumination or projections that can reduce accidents while the vehicle is in motion and when parked and may also provide information and illumination to the driver and vehicle occupants when entering or exiting the vehicle. These systems may, for example, provide spot illumination to moving objects or pedestrians on the road surface, with the spot illumination following the moving object. Alternatively or in addition these systems may project images on the ground, for example to communicate information to occupants of the vehicle, to occupants of another vehicle, or to pedestrians.
Modular automotive side body storage assembly
A modular side storage assembly for use on automotive bodies includes at least one door storage compartment module and at least one rear fender storage compartment module. The door storage compartment module has an internal sidewall, a horizontal base, and a curved external sidewall, joined with a rearward facing sidewall. The curved external sidewall meets the internal sidewall and forms a curved forward facing sidewall. A hinged hatch is attached to the external sidewall. The rear fender storage compartment module has an internal sidewall, a horizontal base, and a curved external sidewall joined by a forward facing sidewall. The curved external sidewall meets the internal sidewall and forms a curved rearward facing sidewall. An assembly includes front and rear door storage compartments; front fender guards; marker lights; a lockable storage panel cap and an antenna mount; and side steps with embedded LEDs. The assemblies are aerodynamic and easy to use.

LIGHT EMITTING SYSTEM, A DESIGN ELEMENT, A REAR VIEW DEVICE, A COVERING DEVICE, AND A BODY COMPONENT OF A VEHICLE
A light emitting system includes a light pipe, a light source disposed at least partially within an interior of the light emitting system, and configured to emit light when receiving electrical power from an electrical power source, wherein the light source is arranged adjacent to and directed towards the light pipe, a lens substantially enclosing the interior of the light emitting system, the light pipe and the light source, the lens having an inner surface and an outer surface disposed opposite the inner surface, and a mask comprising a coating that is applied on the lens and laser etched to form a desired pattern, wherein light emitted from the light source passes through the light pipe and lens.
Vehicle latch with integrated radar module
An electronic latch system for a motor vehicle includes an electronic latch (e-latch) including an e-latch controller within a door of the vehicle. A plurality of radar sensors are located within the door for performing non-contact detection of objects around the vehicle. The radar sensors include an outside-face sensor adjacent an outside face of the door to sense an object within a first sensing zone extending from the outside face. The radar sensors also include an inner sensor adjacent an inside surface of the door to sense an object within a second sensing zone extending from the inside surface. The radar sensors also include a shut-face sensor adjacent a shut face of the door to sense an object within a third sensing zone extending from the shut face. The e-latch includes a light source for projecting a warning image and an audio source for generating an audible warning.
