Emergency lighting system

An aircraft includes an aircraft cabin having a number of rows of seats, at least one aisle, and at least one exit. An emergency lighting system having a first and second lines on opposing sides of the aisle, each line comprising a non-continuous series of photoluminescent markers separated by at least a longitudinal distance in the direction of the respective line. An exit path identifier is arranged to guide passengers from the aisle to the exit. Each line comprises an alternating series of first and second markers. The first photoluminescent markers have a first length and the second markers have a second length, the first length either the same as or shorter than the second length. At least the second markers are located on or adjacent to a seat adjacent to the aisle and the first markers are arranged to block the non-exit paths.

Vehicle utility rail with integrated lights

A utility rail for a vehicle, includes an inward surface with a utility void, an outward surface opposite to the inward surface, and a light void that is open to the exterior of the utility rail and that is separate from the utility void. A light is received in the light void and has an emitter from which light is emitted from the at least one light void to illuminate an area adjacent to the utility rail. The utility rail may be a one-piece metal extrusion and the light void may be a downward facing channel provided in the extruded rail.

Pedestrian Alert System
20230322253 · 2023-10-12 ·

This document describes a pedestrian alert system that can draw a driver's attention to a pedestrian on or near a roadway. The described pedestrian alert system can help prevent collisions with pedestrians and other objects in poor visibility environments or when drivers may be distracted. For example, a system can determine a presence of an object in or near a travel path of a host vehicle. The system can also determine the object's position relative to the host vehicle and control a light bar to provide an indication of the object. The indication can have specific characteristics to indicate the object's position relative to the host vehicle. In this way, the described pedestrian alert system can utilize sensors to focus a driver's attention on an object before a potential crash occurs and reduce the number of traffic-related deaths.

Light guide with multiple rod-shaped light guide portions attached to each other having a prism surface

A light guide includes a rod-shaped first light guide portion including a prism surface including a prism to reflect internally propagating light and output the light to an outside along a lengthwise direction thereof, a rod-shaped second light guide portion including a light intake portion to take in light from a light source, and a rod-shaped intermediate light guide portion between the first light guide portion and the second light guide portion provided such that side surfaces thereof are connected to side surfaces of the first light guide portion and the second light guide portion. A thickness of the intermediate light guide portion is smaller than a thickness of the first light guide portion and a thickness of the second light guide portion. A side surface of the intermediate light guide portion on a side of the prism surface is continuous with the prism surface in a same plane.
