Steering wheel

A steering wheel, in which an airbag device is attached to a core metal, including a through hole for attachment of the airbag device, via a horn switch mechanism, the horn switch mechanism including: a metal pin member whose tip end portion is locked to the core metal via an engagement member to be engaged with the tip end portion in a state where the tip end portion is inserted into the through hole and which forms a part of an electrical circuit configured to operate the horn device; and a resin cap which is interposed between an inner surface of the through hole and an outer surface of the pin member, the steering wheel includes a plurality of connection paths configured to normally connect the pin member and the core metal in a manner of forming a part of the electrical circuit.

Steering wheel with vibration damping mass

A steering wheel includes a steering wheel body and a base. The base carrying an inflator and an airbag package, such that the base, the inflator and the airbag package form a first sub-assembly. The base is connected to the steering wheel body at least indirectly via at least one elastic element, such that the sub-assembly can move relative to the steering wheel body in at least one direction so that the whole sub-assembly serves as a vibration damping mass. The steering wheel also includes a cover element with a roof extending over the airbag package, and at least one horn sensor generating a signal when a pressing force exceeding a predefined value is applied to the roof. The cover element is not rigidly connected to the base, such that the sub-assembly can move relative to the steering wheel body under deformation of the elastic element while the cover element does not move relative to the steering wheel body.

Vehicle horn operating device

The invention relates to a vehicle horn operating device comprising: a steering wheel skeleton structure, a support for a portion of an electric horn circuit comprising a first electrical contact point, an operating component comprising a second contact point, the operating component being able to move between a rest position and a depressed position; in the rest position, the second contact point is kept in contact with the first contact point by a spring element, the first contact point forming a first end stop for the operating component, wherein the device comprises—operating-component retaining elements arranged in such a way as to form a second end stop in the event of loading that causes the operating component to move beyond the first end stop.

Horn plate assembly for vehicle

A horn plate assembly for a vehicle includes: a horn plate having a plurality of fastening holes; and fasteners fastened to a hub of a steering wheel through the fastening holes. Seating grooves having stepped cross-sections to the fastening holes are formed at the fastening holes, and portions of the fasteners are seated in the seating grooves when the fasteners are fastened to the hub of the steering wheel.

COURTESY HORN

A courtesy horn for an automotive vehicle, wherein the courtesy horn is configured to enable to the driver to send an alternate, gentler horn sound, and wherein the courtesy horn is provided in addition to the standard automotive vehicular horn.

Steering wheel

A steering wheel having a steering wheel body (10) having a first force transmitting component, and a horn actuation element. The horn actuation element having a horn actuation surface (23) and having a second force transmitting component. A load cell (30) is provided having a sensitive element that changes at least one of its electrical properties in response to a compression force. The sensitive element placed between the first and second force transmitting components. At least one elastically deformable element is provided between the steering wheel body (10) and the horn actuation element. When a pushing force is applied to the horn actuation surface (23) the force applied to the sensitive element changes. In a resting state of the steering wheel a compression force is applied to the sensitive element by the first and second force transmitting components by a preload and in that the compression force applied to the sensitive element is reduced when a pushing force is applied to the horn actuation surface (23).

Steering wheel for vehicle

A steering wheel for a vehicle may include: a damper part installed in a connection hole of a horn plate, and formed of an elastic material; a horn bolt part fixed to a hub part through the damper part, and configured to guide movement of the horn plate; a damper housing located between the damper part and the horn bolt part, and moved with the damper part; and a horn spring configured to support the damper housing, and having elasticity.

A driver seat airbag may include: a mounting plate seated on a wheel armature; a cover coupled to the mounting plate so as to be lifted and lowered; an elastic member installed between the mounting plate and the cover to apply an elastic force to the cover; an electrode unit installed in the mounting plate; and a connector installed on the cover and connected to the electrode unit when the cover is lowered.

FORCE SENSING HORN SYSTEM

Various implementations of a horn system include one or more force sensors disposed on a first portion of a driver air bag module and one or more actuators disposed on a second portion of the driver air bag module. For example, the force sensors may be disposed adjacent a perimeter of a base plate of the driver air bag module, and the actuators may extend inwardly toward the force sensors from an inner surface of a cover of the driver air bag module, or vice versa. To actuate the horn, the cover is moved axially toward the base plate, causing the actuators to apply force to the force sensors. Force signals received from the force sensors are used by one or more processors to determine characteristics of the force received and/or select a control message for communicating to the horn system based on the force signal characteristics.
