PEDESTRIAN WARNING SYSTEM PROVIDING ADJUSTABLE ACOUSTIC INDICATIONS
Systems and methods are disclosed for a pedestrian warning system. An example disclosed method to simulate noise for an electric or noise-dampened vehicle to warning pedestrians includes producing a first sound at a first frequency range from a first sound generator located at a front of the vehicle. The method also includes producing a second sound at a second frequency range from a second sound generator located under the vehicle. Additionally, the example method includes adjusting the acoustic characteristics of the first and second sounds based on vehicle motion data.
VIRTUAL ENGINE SOUND SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME
A virtual engine sound system includes a cooling module air guard, a virtual noise speaker generating a virtual noise inside the cooling module air guard, a radiator mounted inside the cooling module air guard, and an active air flap emitting the virtual noise between the cooling module air guard and the radiator to the outside.
Airport terminal courtesy car indicator system using speakers for providing instructions
An airport terminal courtesy car indicator system that will prevent uncomfortable situations between operators of the courtesy cars and bystanders within an airport terminal. The courtesy car indicator comprises of an airport terminal transportation vehicle, that may be a golf cart, that is equipped with a synthesizer, an amplifier, and a speaker system that can be manually operated by an operator to give at least 4 instructions with regards to the positioning of the car within the terminal in relation any bystander within the vicinity of the courtesy car.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR GENERATING SOUND FOR VEHICLE
Disclosed is a sound design method for overcoming sense of difference when there is no virtual sound while an auto cruise control is activated. The method includes determining whether an accelerator pedal is actuated; upon determining that the accelerator pedal is not actuated, determining whether an auto cruise control system is operating; upon determining whether the auto cruise control system is operating, classifying a vehicle speed-based order component from a driving sound; and reproducing a speed sensitive virtual sound based on the classified vehicle speed-based order component.
Method of controlling tone of electric vehicle based on motor vibration in deceleration or regenerative braking conditions
A method of controlling a tone of an electric vehicle (EV) includes calculating order components from vibration signals of a rotating motor of the EV, extracting an N.sup.th order component having a determination coefficient R.sup.2 which represents linearity with respect to an output torque of the motor and is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, converting an RPM of the motor into a frequency and calculating an order frequency, arranging the order components by applying a vibration level of the N.sup.th order component to a level of the order frequency to be output and setting an EV mode tone, and in a deceleration of the EV, determining a deceleration condition and applying the vibration level of the N.sup.th order component to level control of the order frequency.
NOISE SIMULATOR
The present invention relates to noise simulator providing guide any vehicle noise two-fold benefit; safety to bring awareness to the presence of the vehicle, accident avoidance and novelty, by being able to project the noise of a variety of motors to produce a soothing sound for both the user and to the listener.
Motor noise masking
A sound synthesis system is provided with a loudspeaker to project sound indicative of synthesized motor sound in response to receiving a synthesized sound (SS) signal, and a processor. The processor is programmed to: estimate motor sound based on a sensor signal indicative of sound present within a passenger compartment; identify a dominant motor harmonic of the motor sound with an amplitude and a frequency; determine an enrichment value of the motor sound; determine if the motor sound is unenriched based on a comparison of the enrichment value to an enrichment threshold value; generate at least one additional motor harmonic with a first frequency that is different than the frequency of the dominant motor harmonic in response to the motor sound being unenriched; and provide the SS signal to the loudspeaker, wherein the SS signal is indicative of the at least one additional motor harmonic.
Proximity alarm device, proximity alarm system, mobile device, and method for diagnosing failure of proximity alarm system
A proximity alarm device includes a control unit, an amplifying unit, an output terminal, a ground terminal, a detection unit, and a determining apparatus. The control unit receives an input of a referencing signal. An output of the control unit is electrically connected to the amplifying unit. An output of the amplifying unit is electrically connected to an output terminal. The ground terminal is electrically connected to a ground. The output of the amplifying unit is electrically connected to the detection unit. An output of the detection unit is electrically connected to the determining apparatus. Then, the determining apparatus compares a detection signal detected by the detection unit and a determination reference signal with each other.
VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION APPARATUS
A vehicle proximity notification apparatus has first and second loudspeakers which output warning sound notifying proximity of a vehicle to an outside, and an adjusting unit. The adjusting unit adjusts the sound output from the first loudspeaker so that a sound collecting signal, which is obtained when the second loudspeaker collects the sound output from the first loudspeaker, coincides with a reference signal, in a state in which the first loudspeaker functions as a sound outputting element and the second loudspeaker functions as a sound collecting element. In addition, the adjusting unit adjusts the sound output from the second loudspeaker so that a sound collecting signal, which is obtained when the first loudspeaker collects the sound output from the second loudspeaker, coincides with a reference signal, in a state in which the second loudspeaker functions as a sound outputting element and the first loudspeaker functions as the sound collecting element.
USE OF ACTIVE NOISE SYSTEM
Aspects of the present invention relate to an active noise system, a controller for an active noise system, a method and a hybrid electric vehicle. The invention relates to use of an active noise system for providing noise when an ICE is not active.
