An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a reflective element disposed at a housing. The housing and the reflective element are tandemly and pivotally adjustable about a mounting structure mounted at an interior portion of the vehicle to provide a desired rearward field of view to a driver of the vehicle. A user input is actuatable by the driver of the vehicle. A motorized actuator is operable responsive to actuation of the user input to tilt the reflective element and the housing in tandem about a horizontal axis. Responsive to actuation of the motorized actuator responsive to the user input, the motorized actuator tandemly tilts the reflective element and the housing about the horizontal axis to orientate an outermost front surface of the reflective element more towards the driver or more away from the driver.

DISPLAY INSIDE MIRROR OF VEHICLE

A display inside mirror includes a housing configured to be secured to a windshield glass, the housing having an opening formed therein, a mirror part disposed in the opening, a display unit disposed so as to face the mirror part, a control unit disposed adjacent to the display unit so as to control the transmission of a display image, a tilting lever disposed at one end of the housing so as to tilt the mirror part, and a switch unit disposed at the tilting lever so as to allow the power from the control unit to be selectively applied to the display unit.

Driving assistance systems and methods

Systems and methods for promoting safety during operation of a passenger vehicle. Such a system/method may determine positions of rear and sideview mirrors of a passenger vehicle that are optimized for a particular driver of the passenger vehicle to minimize blind spots based on the driver and the particular vehicle configuration, and for moving the rear and sideview mirrors into the optimized positions. Alternatively or in addition, such a system/method may collect data corresponding to internal and external conditions of the vehicle, optionally establish a driver profile of typical driving characteristics from the collected data, determine potential risks and/or hazards from the collected data, and warn the driver of the potential risks and/or hazards.

Systems and methods for vehicle side mirror control

Method and apparatus are disclosed for controlling one or more side mirrors of a vehicle. An example vehicle includes a trailer sensor, brake sensor, and speed sensor, a side mirror, and a processor. The processor is configured to set the side mirror in a first position responsive to determining via the trailer sensor and speed sensor that a trailer is attached, and that a vehicle speed is above a threshold speed. And the processor is further configured to transition the side mirror to a second position responsive to determining that vehicle brakes have been applied for a threshold duration.

INNER REAR-VIEW DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

The present invention provides an inner rear-view device for a vehicle that includes a stay, a pivot, a bracket, a housing, a knob, a rear-view unit, a switching mechanism, a fixed engagement section, an elastically-engaged section, an elastically-deformed section, and a suppressing section. The inner rear-view device for the vehicle can adjust angles of a screen and the like and prevent movement of a knob at the time of angle adjustment of the screen and the like even when pivot torque is increased by a magnitude that corresponds to an increase in masses of the housing and the like.

Automatic trailer detection and vehicle configuration

A system for adjusting vehicle mirrors is disclosed and includes a memory device including at least one saved mirror position corresponding with an identified trailer. At least one vehicle mirror is movable to an extended trailering position that corresponds with the saved mirror position. The memory device is part of a controller that moves the vehicle mirror to the saved position responsive to an indication that an identified trailer is hitched to the vehicle.

Intelligent rear-view mirror system

Described herein is a rear view mirror system that is configured to adjust to a user's position without direct user interaction. In some embodiments, a camera may be included in the rear view mirror system so that its line of sight is perpendicular to a reflective surface. The camera may capture a digital image of the user. Eye patterns may be identified from the image information to determine an appropriate position for the mirror. In some embodiments, the mirror may be repositioned so that the camera's line of sight is directed halfway between the identified eye information and the center of a rear window. In some embodiments, the mirror may be re-adjusted periodically.
