Vehicle vision system with undercarriage cameras
A vision system for a vehicle includes at least one underbody camera disposed at an underside of a vehicle and having a field of view encompassing a ground surface under the vehicle and being traveled on by the vehicle. The underbody camera captures image data as the vehicle is moving. A control includes an image processor that processes image data captured by the underbody camera. The control, responsive to processing of image data captured by the underbody camera, detects an object under the vehicle that is greater than a threshold height. The control, responsive to detection of the object, generates an output to inform a driver of the vehicle of the detected object under the vehicle.

Adjustable mirror assembly
An adjustable mirror assembly. The adjustable mirror assembly includes one or more mirrors that are affixed to a front portion of a vehicle and configured to view the underside of the vehicle. The mirrors allow for both vertical movement and horizontal and vertical angular adjustment. Thus, the mirrors can have a field of view of the underside of the vehicle, which may include a blade for grading road and ground surfaces. In one embodiment, the mirrors are controllable from a control box positioned within the vehicle by a vehicle operator. Further, one or more light sources can be activated to illuminate a desired area for improved vision in low and no light conditions.
Trailer underneath and side visualization
A method of providing a visualization (152) of one or more areas obscured by a trailer (200) attached to a vehicle (100) is provided. The method includes receiving first image data (133, 133a) from a first camera (132) positioned on a front portion of the vehicle (100) when the vehicle and the trailer are moving in a forward direction or a rear portion of the trailer when the vehicle and the trailer are moving in a rearward direction. The method also includes storing the received first image data. The method includes receiving speed data (135) of the vehicle from a speed sensor (134). The method also includes determining a visualization (152) of an area (Area 2) underneath the trailer (200) based on the stored first image data (133, 133a) and the speed data (135), and sending instructions to a display (122) to display the visualization of the area underneath the trailer.
Device and method for recording images of a vehicle underbody
A recording device for recording images of an underbody of a vehicle includes: at least one camera recording images of areas of the underbody; and mirrors situated to project images of the underbody into the at least one camera. The mirrors are situated in such a way that the mirrors project adjoining areas of the underbody transversely to the driving direction of the vehicle into the camera as image areas situated one above the other.
