ALIGNMENT POSITION ADAPTATION FOR FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS IN HITCH ASSIST OPERATION

A vehicle hitch assistance system comprises a first image sensor in connection with a portion of the vehicle and positioned forward of a forward hitch disposed in a cargo bed of the vehicle. The system further comprises a controller configured to capture first image data with the first image sensor. The first image data depicts a coupler of a trailer. The controller is further configured to identify a trailer type of the trailer based on the first image data. The trailer type is configured to connect to the forward hitch. The controller is further configured to acquire position data identifying a coupler position of the coupler in the first image data, derive a vehicle path aligning the forward hitch with the coupler, and control a maneuvering system driving the vehicle along the vehicle path.

INTERACTIVE SAFETY SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES

An interactive vehicle safety system having capabilities to improve peripheral vision, provide warning, and improve reaction time for operators of vehicles. For example, the interactive vehicle safety system may have capabilities for portraying objects, which are being blocked by any of the structural pillars and/or mirrors of a vehicle (such as a truck, van, train, etc.). The interactive vehicle safety system disclosed may comprise one or more image capturing devices (such as camera, sensor, laser), distance and object sensors (such as ultrasonic sensor, LIDAR radar sensor, photoelectric sensor, and infrared sensor), a real-time image processing of an object, and one or more display systems (such as LCD or LED displays). The interactive vehicle safety system may give a seamless 360-degree front panoramic view to a driver.

3D DISPLAY SYSTEM FOR CAMERA MONITORING SYSTEM

A system in a vehicle for generating and displaying three-dimensional images may comprise a first imager having a first field of view; a second imager having a second field of view at least partially overlapping the first field of view, the second imager disposed a distance from first imager; and an image signal processor in communication with the first and second imagers; wherein the image signal processor is configured to generate an image having a three-dimensional appearance from the data from the first and second imagers. The first and second imagers may be disposed on a vehicle. The first and second imagers may be configured to capture a scene; and the scene may be exterior to the vehicle.

GUIDED COACHING FOR VEHICLE POSITIONING TO OPERATE AN AUTOMATED HITCHING FEATURE

A system for assisting in aligning a vehicle for hitching with a trailer includes an imager outputting image data of a field of view to the rear of the vehicle and a controller identifying at least one of a trailer or a coupler of the trailer within the image data. The controller further determines that the at least one of the trailer or the coupler is outside of a specified area relative to the vehicle and outputs an instruction for movement of the vehicle determined to position the one of the trailer or the coupler within the specified area. Upon determining that the at least one of the coupler and the trailer is within the specified area, the coupler outputs a steering signal to the vehicle to cause the vehicle to steer to align a hitch ball of the vehicle with the coupler.

OFF ROAD ROUTE SELECTION AND PRESENTATION IN A DRIVE ASSISTANCE SYSTEM EQUIPPED VEHICLE

The present application relates to a method and apparatus for determining a preferred off-road vehicle path including a lidar operative to generate a depth map of an off road surface, a camera for capturing an image of the off road surface, a processor operative to receive the depth map, determine a vehicle path in response to the depth map and a host vehicle characteristic, combine a graphical representation of the vehicle path with the image to generate an augmented image, and a display to display the augmented image to a host vehicle operator.

EXCAVATOR AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS

An excavator includes a lower traveling structure, an upper swing structure swingably mounted on the lower traveling structure, an attachment attached to the upper swing structure, a display device, and a hardware processor. The display device is configured to display multiple ranges including a first range and a second range lower in stability degree than the first range in the working range of the attachment such that the multiple ranges are distinguishable. The hardware processor is configured to determine a setting with respect to the multiple ranges.

IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM

An image processing apparatus includes side cameras attached to a side portion of a vehicle and configured to provide an image obtained by capturing the rear of the side portion including a vehicle body region; a fisheye camera attached to a rear portion of the vehicle and configured to provide an image including the rear of the vehicle captured at a wide angle of view; a narrow-angle camera attached to the rear portion of the vehicle and configured to provide an image including the rear of the vehicle captured at a narrow angle of view; and a synthesizing unit configured to synthesize the image of the fisheye camera and the image of the narrow-angle camera corresponding to the vehicle body region of the image of the side camera in the vehicle body region.

System for detection and response to retreating trailer

A vehicle system comprises a hitch ball mounted on a vehicle and a controller. The controller is configured to identify a coupler position of a trailer and control movement of the vehicle aligning the hitch ball with the coupler position. The controller is further configured to identify a change in the coupler position and stop the motion of the vehicle in response to the change in position of the trailer.

OUTSIDE-VEHICLE ENVIRONMENT MONITORING APPARATUS

An outside-vehicle environment monitoring apparatus includes: imaging devices including center, right, and left imaging devices; a controller; and display devices including center, right, and left display devices. The imaging devices respectively capture images of environments present in a center rear direction, a right rear direction, and a left rear direction from the vehicle. The controller acquires captured images and output display images based on the captured images. The display devices are arranged side by side within a visual range of an occupant. The center display device is disposed between the right and left display devices at a visible distance from the occupant different from the visible distance to the right display device and the visible distance to the left display device. The center display image displayed between the right and left display devices is visually perceived as having a depth relative to the right and left display devices.
