Camera/Lens Mounting Platform for Vehicle
A Camera/lens mounting platform (also referred to hereafter as the “platform”) for attachment to the window opening in a vehicle door is described. The platform is configurable to clamp to the doors of many, if not most, passenger cars and light duty trucks when a door's window is fully or nearly fully retracted. The platform offers a firm connection to the vehicle door and high stability to minimize blurring of photos and video.

A display device includes a cover, a display, and a polarization reflection layer. The cover transmits visible light. The display displays an image. The polarization reflection layer is disposed between the cover and the display and on a surface of the display. The polarization reflection layer reflects part of light incident through the cover and transmits light of the image displayed by the display.
Messaging display apparatus
A display apparatus configured to receive a command, and convert the command to displayable information to an outside pedestrian or drivers in other vehicles may include a main body that includes a securing portion to secure the display apparatus to a vehicle; a communication unit to receive the command; a processor to convert the command to displayable information; a display portion having a displaying layer to display information; and a power managing unit to store and provide electrical energy for the display apparatus. In one embodiment, the power managing unit may include a power generating unit to be positioned to overlap with the displaying layer.

A mobile device mounting system includes a device case and a mount. The device case includes: an insert including a rectangular bore and defining a set of undercut sections about the rectangular bore; and a first set of magnetic elements arranged in a first pattern about the rectangular bore. The mount includes: a body; a polygonal boss extending from the body and configured to insert into the rectangular bore; a set of locking jaws arranged on the polygonal boss configured to transiently mate with the set of undercut sections to constrain the polygonal boss within the rectangular bore; and a second set of magnetic elements arranged in a second pattern about the polygonal boss and configured to transiently couple to the first set of magnetic elements to transiently retain the mount against the device case and to drive the set of locking jaws toward the set of undercut sections.
MOUNTING KIT AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING A SOUNDBAR IN A VEHICLE
A mounting kit for installing a soundbar in a vehicle includes a tube having an elongated body and at least one chamber having a window. The mounting kit includes at least one bolt having a head and a shank, the head arranged to be coupled to the soundbar and the shank arranged to be received in the at least one chamber and accessible through the window to secure the soundbar to the tube. A first bracket is arranged to be secured to a cross member and first pillar of the vehicle, and a second bracket is arranged to be secured to the cross member and a second pillar of the vehicle, each of the first and second brackets having a cradle arranged to receive an end portion of the tube for installing the tube and attached soundbar in the vehicle.

The disclosure relates to a method for determining object information relating to an object in an environment of a multi-part vehicle having at least one towing vehicle and at least one trailer and a control unit and vehicle associated with it, with at least one trailer camera being arranged on the trailer, having at least the following steps: capturing the environment with a trailer camera from a first position and, in dependence thereon, creating a first image having first pixels; changing the position of the trailer camera; capturing the environment with the trailer camera from a second position and creating a second image having second pixels; and, determining object information relating to an object in the captured environment.

A display device for the interior of a vehicle includes: (i) a display unit, which is designed for optical display of information and has a display element for this purpose and which can be or is arranged in a longitudinal extension direction of the vehicle behind a front row of seats, preferably on a roof lining of the vehicle; (ii) a movement unit, which is designed to move the display unit, in particular with the display element pivoted away from the roof lining of the vehicle, in the longitudinal extension direction, in particular controllably, between various working positions and/or to hold the display unit in a given working position; and (iii) a control unit which is designed to control the movement unit in such a way that the display unit and the display element are arranged at a predetermined first distance or first distance range from an element of the front row of seats.

A method of operating a movable support for orienting and positioning a portable computing device in a vehicle includes supporting the portable computing device with the movable support, and receiving status data based on a status of the vehicle with a controller. The method also includes determining a target orientation of the portable computing device based on the status data with the controller, the target orientation including one of a portrait screen orientation and a landscape screen orientation, and determining a target angular position of the portable computing device based on the status data, the target angular position including one of a driver-oriented position and a passenger-oriented position. The method further includes using the controller to move the movable support to position the portable computing device in the target orientation and the target angular position.
