An assembly for supporting a device from a structural location exhibiting an upper horizontal edge. A main support body has front and rear faces, a bottom support ledge projecting from the front face and being adapted to receive a bottom extending edge of the device. A top support ledge extends from the rear face and is adapted to engage the upper horizontal edge of the structural location. A variant of the assembly incorporates a height adjustable component secured to the main support body and exhibiting a further ledge support location adapted to engage a top extending edge of the device. An angularly adjustable arm supporting component is secured to a lower rear face location of the main support body and is adjustable to establish a desired angle or tilt of the main support body and supported device.

As examples, the portable electronics device may be a tablet computer, a cell phone, a smart phone, a handheld video game system, a personal digital assistant, a palmtop computer, a DVD player, data or audio-video media, or a multi-media enabled device.

Various embodiments of a mount apparatus are disclosed herein for securing an electronic device (such as a radar/laser detector, GPS device, and/or dash camera or other electronic device used within a vehicle) to a surface such as an interior surface (e.g., windshield, dashboard) of a vehicle. In one example, the mount apparatus includes a magnet which is adapted to be coupled with a corresponding metal surface within the electronic device, so that the magnet positioned within the apparatus provides a magnetic force to aid a user in securing the mount apparatus and the electronic device to each other.
RETAINING ASSEMBLY TO ATTACH ONE OR MORE MOBILE DEVICES TO A MOBILE OBJECT
A retaining assembly to attach one or more mobile devices to a mobile object. The retaining assembly may include a mounting plate that attaches to the mobile object by way of a mounting bracket or scorecard clip-on. The mounting bracket provides dovetails for selecting engaging the mounting plate in different orientations. The mounting plate facilitates various magnetized components to removably attach to the mobile device. If the mobile device has a third-party extensible grip, a retaining ring may be employed to attach the mobile device or the extensible grip modified to one of the various magnetized components.

A method of supporting a mobile computing device in a vehicle comprising: providing a seating assembly disposed in an interior of a vehicle, the seating assembly comprising a seatback and a headrest adjustably coupled to the seatback; placing a mobile computing device between the seatback and the headrest; and adjusting the headrest relative to the seatback such that the seatback and the headrest support the mobile computing device. The seatback can further comprise a first lower support member including an upward extension, wherein, placing a mobile computing device between the seatback and the headrest includes placing the mobile computing device adjacent and forward the upward extension of the first lower support member; and wherein, the upward extension of the first lower support member further supports the mobile computing device. The method can further comprise connecting the mobile computing device to a connection port on the seating assembly.
