Sandwich-Type, Composite Component Having a Sprayed Backside Protective Coating
A sandwich-type, composite component having a sprayed backside protective coating is provided. The component includes a first outer layer having an outer surface, a second outer layer and a core positioned between and bonded to the outer layers and having a plurality of cavities. The protective coating is integrally formed from an elastomeric material. The material is sprayed to form the coating and the coating is bonded to the outer surface by curing. The component may be a vehicle interior component such as a vehicle load floor component.

A cargo component of a vehicle includes a panel, at least one ridge, and a plurality of measurement gradations. The ridge extends along the panel. The plurality of measurement gradations are formed in and along the ridge. In one form, the ridge extends in a longitudinal direction of the panel.

A vehicle bed liner for providing additional weight to a vehicle includes a support layer including a base material having a thickness, where the thickness of the base material is substantially constant across the entirety of the base material, a weight-receiving compartment within the support layer, and a weight-storing article within the weight-receiving compartment adapted to receive a plurality of weight-providing articles, wherein the plurality of weight-providing articles are capable of being positioned in the weight-storing article to thereby provide additional weight to a vehicle.

Removable roller tray
A removable roller tray for use in a pickup truck bed, wherein the tray comprises a base and a handle arranged on an edge of the base. The tray further comprises a plurality of notches arranged on a top surface of the base and a plurality of rollers arranged on a bottom surface of the base. The tray further comprises at least one lanyard connected to a side edge of the base on a first end thereof and a surface of the pickup truck on a second end thereof. The removable roller tray may allow for easy removal of items stored near the front of the pickup truck bed by allowing the removable roller tray to roll out to a predetermined position on the bed and extended tailgate.
VEHICLE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT VENT STRUCTURE
A rear wall structure of a passenger compartment includes a vent opening and a horizontally extending seal protruding in a vehicle forward direction. A trim panel has a rear surface facing the rear wall structure. A vertically extending seal extends from the rear surface. With the trim panel installed to the rear wall structure the vertically extending seal contacts the rear wall structure, and, the horizontally extending seal of the rear wall structure contacts the rear surface of the trim panel such that the rear surface and the vertically extending seal of the trim panel and the upright interior surface and the horizontally extending seal of the rear wall structure define an air outlet passageway that extends from an opening in the trim panel to the vent opening.
Handle device and a trunk carpet assembly
A handle device includes: a housing, a handle unit including a base portion and a handle portion. The base portion includes a first track and is pivotably connected to the housing. The handle portion includes a slider movable along the first track and a retractable first locking unit connected to a first side portion of the housing. The first locking unit is positioned at least partially within the first track in a locking position and positioned outside of the first track in an unlocking position.
Smart functional leather for recharging a portable electronic device
A smart functional vehicle component includes a vehicle component, a leather sheet fixed over a surface of the vehicle component, a flexible electronic circuit contacting an A-surface of the leather sheet and including a printed and cured conductive ink, and a pigmented coating arranged over the electronic circuit. The circuit includes a wireless transmitter, which is configured to generate an oscillating electromagnetic field when an associated portable electronic device is within a predetermined distance from the wireless transmitter. The circuit may also include an electronic element such as a light source, a sensor, or a switch. When the circuit includes a light source, the pigmented coating inhibits or prevents the circuit and the light source from being visible through the pigmented coating, but light emitted by the light source is visible through the pigmented coating.
Vehicle body components comprising retroreflectors and their methods of manufacture
A body component of a vehicle can comprise a first substrate formed of at least one non-conductive material and defining a back surface that defines a retroreflector geometry and a front surface that defines a different geometry than the retroreflector geometry, wherein the front surface of the first substrate is an exposed A-surface of the body component. The body component can further comprise a conductive layer formed of a conductive material and arranged adjacent to the back surface of the first layer, the conductive layer (i) also defining the retroreflector geometry and (ii) reflecting radar waves transmitted from a radar device of another vehicle.
PAD OR COVER SYSTEMS FOR TRUCK TAILGATES AND THE LIKE
According to some illustrative embodiments, a novel and advantageous vehicle tailgate cover and/or pad system is provided. In the preferred embodiments, the vehicle tailgate cover and/or pad system is uniquely configured to provide a vehicle tailgate with a flat and padded surface. In some preferred embodiments, the vehicle tailgate cover system is fixed to a vehicle tailgate and has a base of rigid material, the base having a front surface that is substantially flat, and the base including at least one mounting through-hole for mounting the vehicle tailgate cover system to the vehicle tailgate with fasteners, and a padding layer attached to the base at the front surface of the base.
