The at least one damping pad has a thickness measured between the first surface and the second surface, and the thickness of the at least one damping pad in an uncompressed state prior to installation into the vehicle is at least 5% greater than a thickness of the at least one damping pad in a compressed state when installed into the vehicle.

A roof structure of a motor vehicle includes an outer sheet and a headliner below the outer sheet. A telematics control unit (TCU) is disposed in an insulated space of the roof structure. The TCU is configured to provide Wi-Fi within a passenger space of the vehicle above an electrically non-conductive grille extending across an opening in the headliner. The grille permits airflow between the insulated space and a passenger space below the headliner to cool the TCU, without interfering with Wi-Fi signals from the TCU.

Small clearance between the undercover and the vehicle body are maintained, and interference between the undercover and the vehicle due to vibration while driving is prevented, without changing the number of fastening points of the undercover to the vehicle body.

A cowl assembly for a vehicle is provided with integrated water management without the need for drainage grommets or hoses. The cowl assembly includes at least one cowl panel disposed adjacent a rear section of an engine compartment and extending a distance across a transverse width direction of the vehicle. A cowl insulator component is disposed adjacent to the cowl panel, also extending across the transverse width direction of the vehicle. At least one region of a major surface of the cowl insulator component is provided with a fluid resistant barrier layer configured to route fluid in a direction away from the engine compartment.

This sound transmission analyzing unit is configured to calculate, based on the outside-of-panel acoustic transfer function and the panel transmission function, an acoustic transfer function from the sound source via the air to the inner surface of the panel member.

The headliner includes a noise-reflective material and a noise escape region that comprises at least one opening configured to allow sound waves to pass through the noise escape region into the at least one layer of noise-deadening material and reduce noise reflection by the headliner to the operator chair.
