Front hood, vehicle with such front hood as well as method for producing the same
A front lid for a vehicle, especially a motor vehicle, which front lid includes an outer panel, where, in a predetermined region or in the entire area of the front lid below the outer panel, at least one inertia mass is arranged, and the inertia mass is formed of a flexible heavy layer.
Acoustic insulator and wiring harness with acoustic insulator
An acoustic insulator for a wiring harness has a non-woven fabric laminate in which non-woven fabrics are laminated. The non-woven fabrics include a skin material non-woven fabric and a base material non-woven fabric having a larger basis weight than the skin material non-woven fabric. At least the base material non-woven fabric includes a first base material non-woven fabric (31) and a second base material non-woven fabric (32). An acoustic insulator (1) is formed by arranging the skin material non-woven fabric (2) between the first and second base material non-woven fabrics (31, 32), and the acoustic insulator (1) is integrated with a wiring harness (7) to form a wiring harness with acoustic insulator (6).
LOCALIZED SILICONE HEAT SHIELDING FOR EXTENSION DASH PANELS
A method for making an insulated vehicle extension dash panel includes injection molding an extension dash panel from a structural polymer. The method further includes adding a plurality of components to a mixer to form an insulating foaming layer. The plurality of components includes a two-part liquid silicone compound, a catalyst, and a foaming agent. A screw is then coupled to the mixer and the insulating foaming layer is injection molded to an inner face of the extension dash panel. The insulating foaming layer is then cured to the inner face of the extension dash panel to form the insulated vehicle extension dash panel.
FITTING STRUCTURE AND STEERING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
A fitting structure includes an annular seal member; a first fitting member including a first tubular fitting portion having a tubular shape, a first holding portion that contacts the seal member from a first axial end side, and a first restricting portion provided at a position different from a position of the first holding portion; and a second fitting member including a second tubular fitting portion having a tubular shape that is fitted to the first tubular fitting portion from a second axial end side, a second holding portion that contacts the seal member from the second axial end side, and a second restricting portion that contacts the first restricting portion from the second axial end side in a state where the seal member is compressed by a prescribed amount between the first holding portion and the second holding portion.
Automotive soundproofing material and wire harness assembly
The present invention provides an automotive soundproofing material capable of providing a high sound absorption performance throughout a wide frequency band. In the automotive soundproofing material, flexible-porous body and sheet-shaped body are formed in a multi-layered structure, and the sheet-shaped body is comprised of a plurality of through holes formed therethrough.
BODY APERTURE PLUG AND BODY CONVERSION
A plug for a body aperture in a vehicle body includes a base, a locating surface and a lip portion of the base. The base is shaped and sized to completely overlap the aperture. The locating surface is disposed on a first side of the base, extending substantially normal to the base. The locating surface is complementary in shape to the aperture for receipt thereby. The lip portion connects the locating surface with an outer perimeter of the base. A receiving groove is disposed in the lip portion.
Acoustic barrier assembly with acoustic seal
An acoustic barrier assembly for a vehicle and a method of manufacturing the same is disclosed. A decoupler layer surrounds a pass-through opening in a wall of the vehicle to defining a decoupler aperture that is open to the pass-through opening. A barrier layer abuts the decoupler layer and defines a barrier aperture that is also open to the pass-through opening. An acoustic seal is integrally formed in the barrier layer. The acoustic seal defines an exposed region of the barrier layer that is not bounded by the decoupler layer. The exposed region of the barrier layer directly contacts the wall around the pass-through opening and seals around a penetrating member that extends through the pass-through opening. The acoustic seal thus reduces flanking noise traveling through a gap between the penetrating member and the pass-through opening.
MOTOR VEHICLE HAVING A FRAME-LIKE ASSEMBLY CARRIER AS A COMPONENT OF A BODYWORK IN THE FRONT END REGION
A motor vehicle having a frame-like assembly carrier as a component of a bodywork in the front end region of the motor vehicle which is driven by means of an internal combustion engine. The assembly carrier has an inner side and an outer side and includes a plurality of web-like carriers. In the installation position of the assembly carrier, two lateral carriers spaced apart from each other are connected by an upper carrier with a frame being formed. The upper web-like carrier has at least one air passage defined by the upper carrier which leads from the outer side to the inner side of the assembly carrier. A suction system is arranged on the inner side of the assembly carrier for supplying the internal combustion engine with air. At least one air inlet opening of the suction system adjoins at least one air passage of the upper carrier.
Sound-absorbing air duct for vehicle containing polyester fiber with low melting point
A sound-absorbing air duct for a vehicle includes a lower non-woven fabric and an upper non-woven fabric sandwiching wires therebetween; and a film made of a polyester resin having a low melting point and disposed on the upper non-woven fabric, wherein each of the lower and upper non-woven fabrics includes a mixture between a first polyester fiber containing a polyester resin having a melting point higher than 250 C. and a second polyester fiber containing a polyester resin having a low melting point and having a softening point of 100 C. to 150 C., wherein the second polyester fiber includes a polyester resin having a low melting point composed of: an acid component including terephthalic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof; and a diol component including 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 2-methyl-1,3-pentanediol, and ethylene glycol.
Device to prevent entry by rodents and other such pests into a recreational vehicle's service compartment
A pest seal for a recreational vehicle (RV) to seal the gap that exists between a hose and/or cable passing through an access port located within the service compartment of a RV. The pest seal is comprised of two halves that are joined together along a single edge with mirrored cutouts that are lined with a compressible foam formed along the joining edge so that when the two halves are brought together the cutouts allow for the passage of a hose or cable through the pest seal. Embodiments further comprise a semicircular flange formed on the underside of each halve of a radius slightly smaller than the radius of the access port or a hinge attaching the two halves at one end of the edge where the halves are joined. The halves may be joined together by any number of means such as but not limited to magnets, hook and loop fabric, and mechanical latches.
