Exercise Machine Rail Indicia System
An exercise machine rail indicia system for providing indicia to improve exercise instruction. The exercise machine rail indicia system generally includes a frame a rail, a carriage movably positioned upon the rail, a bias member connected between the carriage and the frame that applies a bias force upon the carriage, a first position indicator positioned upon the upper surface of the rail, and a second position indicator positioned upon the upper surface of the rail. The first position indicator and the second position indicator are distally spaced apart a first distance. The first position indicator and the second position indicator visually indicate to the exerciser where to position the carriage along the first rail during the performance of an exercise.
Recumbent step exerciser with self-centering mechanism
A step exercise apparatus with a self-centering pedal system. The system comprising a frame and a seat supported from the frame. A first pedal assembly and a second pedal assembly are pivotally supported from the frame positioned so as to be manipulable by a user seated in the seat. A linkage is positioned in communication with the first pedal assembly and the second pedal assembly such that movement of either pedal assembly in a first direction causes movement of the other pedal assembly in a second direction opposite of the first direction. A brake is preferably employed for resisting motion of the first pedal assembly and the second pedal assembly in at least the first direction. A centering system positions the first and second pedal assemblies in a substantially central position when not being manipulated by the user.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND APPARATUSES FOR RECIPROCAL MUSCLE ACTIVATION AND RELEASE
In various embodiments, an apparatus for exercising can include a housing, a first inner tube, a second inner tube, and a compression spring operable to resist motion when compressed. The first inner tube is coupled with a first end of the compression spring and the second inner tube is coupled with a second end of the compression spring. In addition, the apparatus can also include an extension spring inside the housing. Furthermore, a portion of the compression spring and a portion of each of the first and second inner tubes are inside the housing. Note that a first end of the extension spring is coupled with a first handle or loop and the second end of the extension spring is coupled with a second handle or loop. The extension spring is operable to provide resistance during pulling motion away from center of the apparatus.
Foot harness for lower body cable machine exercises
A foot harness is disclosed for use with cable machines to provide improved range of motion for lower body exercises. The foot harness includes a sole strap and a heel strap. The heel strap includes forward ends that attach to a cable. The forward ends rise at an angle from the plane of the sole so that the point of resistance for the exercise is emphasized on the foot rather than on the attachment point.
Exercise machine support system
An exercise machine support system for providing increased versatility including inclination or declination of an exercise surface, a reduction in the overall length and width of the exercise machine, and an enhanced user interface which reduces the risk of injury. The exercise machine support system generally includes a cantilevered exercise machine which is adapted to have a variable angle of incline or decline with respect to a horizontal ground surface. The exercise machine will generally include a base and a support which extends between the base and the exercise machine. The upper end of the support is connected to the exercise machine by a first pivot such that the exercise machine pivots about the support. An adjustment device may be utilized to pivot the exercise machine and thus adjust its angle of incline. Various types of adjustment devices are disclosed, including an actuator, ratchet-and-pawl, gears, and cam.
SAFETY ENCLOSURE FOR TRAMPOLINE USERS
A trampoline comprising a trampoline mat defining a jumping area and supported via springs from a circumextending support structure, the support structure including a plurality of legs so that the trampoline mat is positioned at a height above ground or flooring; the trampoline being provided with a safety enclosure surrounding the jumping area. The safety enclosure comprises a net supported by a plurality of telescopically extendable poles, each pole when extended comprising a plurality of sections, each successive extended section with distance above the trampoline mat having a cross-section less than that that of the next less extended section whereby the sections nest when telescopically collapsed. The lowermost such section is supported at a position above the ground or flooring by the support structure.
Combined respiratory muscle training and oscillating positive expiratory pressure device
A respiratory treatment device for the combined administration of respiratory muscle training (“RMT”) and oscillating positive expiratory pressure (“OPEP”) therapy, and administration of RMT using pressure threshold resistors and flow resistors with respiratory treatment devices, such as OPEP devices.
Exercise Machine Carriage Handle System
An exercise machine carriage handle system for providing handles for an exerciser to grasp with their hands thereby expanding the type of exercises that may be performed. The exercise machine carriage handle system generally includes a frame having a track, a carriage movably connected to the track, a bias member connected between the frame and the carriage, a first handle connected to the carriage near the first side, and a second handle connected to the carriage near the second side. The first handle and second handle are adapted for grasping with a first hand and a second hand respectively of a user during the performance of an exercise on the exercise machine.
ABDOMINAL AND CORE EXERCISER DEVICE
There is provided a plank exercise device including a support portion adapted to receive arms or hands of a person and adapted to receive a display device, a destabilizer connected to the support portion, and a stationary base adapted to hold the destabilizer.
Exercise Machine with Resistance Selector System
An exercise machine with resistance selector system for selecting the number of bias members applying a resistance force against a movable platform. The exercise machine with resistance selector system generally includes one or more switches which are connected to the movable platform. Each of the one or more switches is adapted to engage or disengage a corresponding latch. When engaged, the latch will connect a corresponding bias member to the movable platform. When disengaged, the latch will disconnect a corresponding bias member from the movable platform. In this manner, an exerciser may easily adjust the number of bias members connected to the movable platform so as to adjust the resistance force applied against movement of the movable platform along a rail.
