Easy to assemble/disassemble adjustable monetary coin-weighted dumbbell
20170274240 · 2017-09-28 · ·

This invention is an easily assembled and disassembled exercise dumbbell that derives the majority of its adjustable weight from the addition of monetary coins. The number of coins used determines the weight of the dumbbell, thereby making possible very small incremental increases in the dumbbell's effective total weight. The weight of the dumbbell's handle assembly can be multiplied up to nine times in its heaviest dumbbell configuration. Additional weight may be achieved with the use of small metal slugs. Due to the use of a specialized screw head, the dumbbell can be assembled and disassembled with only the use of a coin (no standard screwdriver is necessary). With all coins removed, this dumbbell makes an excellent lightweight travelling companion.

A multiple exercise medicine ball including a medicine ball body having core, a pair of diametrically opposed indents in an outer wall thereof, and a pair of u-shaped handles which extend from the indents and can be raised for use as a dumbbell, a barbell and a curl bar. A pair of cylindrical bars, rotatably disposed in a pair of channels in the core and extending outwardly through a center of the indents, can be gripped while the user in a pushup exercise position to perform an abdominal wheel exercise. An inverted substantially u-shaped grip member, which extends from atop the medicine ball, is used for kettlebell fitness training. A 360 degree rotatable motion ball protrudes from a bottom side of the medicine ball body.

Baseline attenuated muscle (BAM) method

In a method of strengthening pathological muscles, the patient is subjected to a therapeutic strengthening exercise for strengthening a target muscle. The method begins at the start of the strengthening exercise in response to exacerbation of symptoms exhibited by patient. The symptoms exhibited by the patient during the strengthening exercise are minimized by a series of steps including adjusting an intensity of the strengthening exercise, limiting a range of motion of the strengthening exercise, dividing evenly a prescribed number of sets and repetitions corresponding to the strengthening exercise, dividing unevenly the prescribed number of sets and repetitions corresponding to the strengthening exercise, varying a speed at which the patient is subjected to the strengthening exercise, modifying a position of the patient for the strengthening exercise, matching a mode of the strengthening exercise to the modified patient's position, and switching between primary, secondary and tertiary actions of the patient's target muscle.

EXERCISE MACHINE AND USER INTERFACE FOR EXERCISE MACHINE

An exercise machine may include a tower enclosing, at least in part, a cable and pulley system, a base supporting the tower on a surface, and a plurality of handles operatively coupled to the cable and pulley system and configured to extend from the tower. The exercise machine may include a resistance motor operatively coupled to the cable and pulley system. The resistance motor may include a fan and a flywheel connected to a common shaft. The exercise machine may be operatively associated with a user interface which includes an exercise display area configured to activate one or more exercise indicators in a predetermined sequence and a control area including at least one mode control operable to change the sequence of activation of the one or more exercise indicators. The user interface may be provided on a console of the exercise machine.
